Rice porridge in a slow cooker - the basis for culinary fantasies

How to cook rice porridge in the Polaris multicooker?

Despite the fact that the multicooker has become an indispensable assistant for us in the kitchen, this device is not completely ideal. It also has several shortcomings. And the main one is that the porridge can still “escape.” In order not to suffer a fiasco in the process of preparing rice porridge, let's listen to experienced chefs.

Cooking tips:

  • Grease the top of the multi-cooker container with butter. And also put a piece in the porridge while cooking.
  • Be sure to rinse the rice grains several times, as they say, until the water is clean.
  • The porridge will definitely not “run away” if you cook it in milk diluted with filtered water.
  • At the end of cooking, carefully remove the valve on the device and release a little steam. Just don't get burned!

Cooking process in a slow cooker

After the main components have been washed and cleaned, they should be placed in the bowl of the device and filled with fresh milk. Having seasoned the products with sugar and salt, they must be thoroughly mixed and then tightly closed with a lid. In the future, you need to set the porridge program. If your multicooker does not have such a mode, then you can use the stewing program. In this case, it is advisable to set the timer for 35-40 minutes. This time is enough for the rice grains to completely boil.

Traditional recipe

Milk rice porridge in the Polaris multicooker produces a delicate creamy taste, almost caramel. And how many benefits this dish contains!

Compound:

  • 1 tbsp. rice cereal;
  • ½ tbsp. purified water;
  • ½ tbsp. milk;
  • salt;
  • 2 tbsp. l. granulated sugar;
  • soft butter.

On a note! Even sweet porridge needs to be lightly salted during cooking, otherwise it will taste bland.

Preparation:

  1. Pour cold water over the cereal and leave for ten minutes.

  2. Then we wash the rice several times, as they say, until it gets clean.
  3. Place the rice grains in a multi-cooker container.

  4. Add granulated sugar and salt.

  5. We activate the “Milk porridge” option or simply “Porridge” and cook for 40-50 minutes.
  6. Add oil to the prepared porridge and stir.

  7. Let's bring the porridge to the desired structure in the automatic heating mode.

On a note! When cooking rice in a multicooker, you can measure food using either multicups or a measuring container.

Rice porridge with milk in a slow cooker with pumpkin, dried apricots and prunes

Professional chefs know one trick. Any milk porridge cooked in a slow cooker or on the stove will turn out tastier if the milk is diluted with water. That's what I tried to do. The porridge turned out crumbly and really tasted much better than usual.

You will need the following products:

  • rice 200 grams;
  • sugar 120 grams;
  • baked milk 250 ml;
  • water 250 ml;
  • dried apricots, prunes and pumpkin;
  • butter - a small piece.

Preparation:

Place rice and granulated sugar into the multicooker bowl. Add water and milk.

Add washed dried apricots, clean prunes cut into pieces and pumpkin pulp to the bowl.

Add a piece of soft butter. Add a little salt and set the “Porridge” mode.

Place the finished rice porridge with milk on a plate and decorate with any berries. In my case, this is a sprig of red currant, blackberry and raspberry.

The recipe is as simple as the porridge is delicious, which means it’s very simple. Bon appetit!

"Sunny" porridge

Many sweet tooths were captivated by rice porridge with pumpkin. In the Polaris multicooker (and in other models of the device), it is prepared simply and quickly. And even if your household doesn’t like pumpkin, they won’t refuse such a delicacy.

  6. Pour in milk and add pumpkin mixture.

  8. Set the “Porridge” option and cook the dish for forty minutes.

  9. Then we leave the porridge in the automatic heating mode for 15 minutes so that it “reaches.” Ready!

Note to hostesses:

  • To cook in a slow cooker, choose round rice. You can even cook porridge based on chopped meat. But steamed long grains are not suitable.
  • As for milk, give preference to a product with a fat content of 3.2%. It can be diluted with filtered water.
  • Rice porridge can be prepared using milk powder.
  • In addition to pumpkin pulp, the taste of rice porridge can be supplemented with dried fruits, nuts, honey, favorite berries and pieces of fruit.
  • Not only sweet rice porridge is cooked in a slow cooker. You can cook porridge with meat, minced meat, vegetables, and mushrooms.

Useful tips

For such a treat as milk porridge with rice cereal, rice with round grains is best suited, since it boils best.

It is better to cook milk rice porridge using fattier milk (from 2.5% to 3.2%), so the dish will be more aromatic and tastier.

When preparing dairy dishes in a slow cooker, it happens that housewives are faced with such a problem as milk escaping through the valve. You can avoid this situation if you dilute milk with water, taking three parts milk to one part water. The taste of the finished dish will not be affected by this, and all the milk will remain in the multi-pan.

If you want to prepare milk porridge for breakfast without waking up an hour earlier, but using the “Delayed Start” option, you need to freeze the milk and put it in this form with the rest of the ingredients in the multicooker bowl. Thus, even on a summer morning, after the signal, you can have breakfast with delicious milk porridge, and not rice with sour milk.

Inexperienced housewives are often interested in the question: when to add butter to a dish? It can be placed immediately with the rest of the ingredients, in a multi-pan with the finished porridge, or directly on a plate before serving. So the answer to the question of when depends only on personal preferences.
