The benefits and harms of bran cookies: recipe with photos and videos

The main difference is in the ingredients used. Regular cookies are made from high-calorie wheat flour and with the addition of large amounts of sugar. The result is a tasty, but high-calorie delicacy that is harmful to your figure and health. Diet cookies, on the contrary, contain low-calorie flour or bran, as well as natural sweeteners, such as fruit.

Another cooking secret is to use egg whites rather than yolks. Protein is lower in calories and contains more nutrients than yolk. In addition, oatmeal is most often used in recipes, and butter is replaced with vegetable oil.

Description

We love oatmeal cookies! It's not just tasty, it's also healthy! It’s good to give to children and to enjoy themselves :) And oatmeal cookies are good because they go well with various tasty additives: raisins and chocolate chips, poppy seeds and apples, dried fruits and nuts... Add whatever you like! And this time I decided to make super-healthy cookies - oatmeal with bran!

As a base, I took the classic oatmeal cookie recipe, which is on the website. Only there is less oatmeal flour there than wheat flour, but here I took the same amount. This may be why the cookies had a bitter taste. Natural oat flour is characterized by a slight bitterness that appears when oats are ground.

Instant cereal, from which I made flour last time, does not have such a taste, since it undergoes additional processing in production. And this time I bought real oatmeal, natural and healthy, but with this effect.

So it’s probably better to take 2/3 wheat and 1/3 oatmeal :)

Classic oatmeal cookies

Oatmeal cookies are usually the easiest to make. It contains a small amount of ingredients and is prepared quite quickly.

You will need:

  • 2-2.5 cups oatmeal;
  • 2-3 tablespoons of honey;
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil;
  • ⅓ cup sunflower seeds.

If desired, you can add raisins or finely chopped soft apples to the cookies.

Pre-dry the oatmeal in a heated frying pan, then mix it with honey, vegetable oil and sunflower seeds, add raisins and apples if necessary. You can also add prunes, dried apricots or walnuts to the dough to diversify the recipe. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and leave the dough to sit for 20 minutes.

When the dough has settled, place it on a baking sheet in small portions. It is best to first put special paper on it so that the cookies do not burn.

Bake oatmeal cookies in the oven at 120 degrees for 45 minutes. Before serving the finished cookies, you need to let them cool slightly.

Cookies with prunes

Bran cookies with figs and prunes are very useful for those who suffer from constipation: in combination with bran, these dried fruits perfectly cleanse the intestines. The cookie recipe is dietary, simple and quick. Doesn't even contain flour! Try it!

Mix 100 g of finely chopped and soaked (for 30 minutes) dried fruits in the juice of a whole orange with oat bran (50 g) and ground almonds (150 g), add two eggs beaten with salt, mix. Place small “pancakes” with a spoon on a baking sheet covered with paper and bake for 15 minutes at 180°C.

Mustard wraps for weight loss and cellulite

With bran and flax

Another simple recipe for PP cookies - with flax seeds and bran. For it you will need:

  • 2 tablespoons oat bran;
  • 2 tablespoons wheat bran;
  • 2 egg whites;
  • 1 teaspoon flax seeds;
  • 1 teaspoon sweetener;
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil;
  • baking powder.

Grind oat and wheat bran into flour, add flax seeds, sweetener and baking powder. Then, in a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with water and vegetable oil until you get a light foam. Pour flour and flax seeds into the resulting mixture, mix thoroughly and leave for 15 minutes until the bran swells.

Divide the resulting batter into molds and place in the oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake the cookies for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool briefly.

The most delicious dietary bran cookies

All adherents of a healthy and nutritious diet have known about the benefits of bran for a long time, and even for lovers of fasting diets, whether they know it or not, bran also helps a lot.

After all, diets for weight loss, especially on diets, are often not properly balanced, and the body suffers from this: stagnation forms in the intestines, health worsens, the excretory system does not cope well with the load, etc.

Why is bran useful?

Why are we talking about dietary recipes for cookies made specifically from bran? Because bran “takes an active part in cleaning”, collecting toxins and capturing waste, unloading the excretory organs and supplying the body with many useful substances.

Bran of various types and dishes with them help keep you feeling full longer, normalize blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and promote healthy digestion.

As a result, not only weight is reduced, but also the well-being and condition of the skin, hair and nails improves: beauty and youth through cleansing and healing the body.

Of course, such dishes also include homemade bran cookies, delicacies and treats, healthy snacks and a popular product of proper dietary nutrition.

Which bran to choose

But which bran is most often used in healthy homemade cookie recipes?

Of course, all bran is useful, but you should choose based on your health and digestive characteristics. For example, corn and rye bran are active “cleansers” that help in the treatment of serious diseases, but the coarseness and rigidity of their structure can worsen the condition of many gastrointestinal diseases.

Why is wheat bran often used for cookies? They are rich in vitamins and protein, but also in gluten, intolerance to which, complete or partial, is becoming more common today; Amaranth bran has a super-rich composition, but often causes allergies.

Oats are considered a gluten-free grain, although they contain another similar protein. If you are completely gluten intolerant, it is better not to eat oat bran, but most nutritionists consider it the best option. Oat bran is most often used in diet cookie recipes.

Flax bran is rare and not so effective in losing weight: it is too high in calories and not very much fiber. But they are nutritious and soft, rich in minerals and PUFAs, they cleanse the intestines well of toxins and eliminate constipation - they are also recommended by many doctors. Despite their rarity, dietary flax bran cookies are considered the most beneficial for health.

Buckwheat bran is also not easy to find on sale, but it can be found in pharmacies, health food departments and online stores. Low in calories, inexpensive, gluten-free, rich in minerals, amino acids and animal-like protein - they're worth checking out. Buckwheat bran is also great for homemade diet cookies.

Any bran is beneficial for the intestinal microflora - experiment, but here we will present recipes with the most popular ingredients.

Is it possible to lose weight by baking?

Of course available! But you need to choose the recipes correctly. There should be little sugar in baked goods; dairy products should be chosen with a low fat content. As for flour, it is advisable to replace it with bran.

Why should you choose bran? The fact is that this product stimulates the intestines and cleanses it. In addition, bran contains a lot of valuable substances, unlike regular wheat flour. Bran contains insoluble fiber, B vitamins, as well as C and E, magnesium, potassium, zinc, chromium, copper, selenium, iron, phosphorus. This product helps restore the microflora of the colon, normalizes blood sugar levels, and removes harmful cholesterol from the body. The fiber contained in bran binds fatty acids and removes them, which means it helps in weight loss, unlike flour.

Bran helps the liver function better, and also helps with gastritis and peptic ulcers, bile stagnation, and gallbladder dyskinesia. Dietary fiber prevents the development of dysbiosis and helps cope with constipation.

All bran contains almost the same amount of fiber, but each type of this product has some differences. Thus, barley bran reduces the level of bad cholesterol, while corn bran contains the most insoluble fiber. Rice bran is good for those who have gallbladder problems, and oat bran is great for lowering blood sugar levels. When it comes to wheat bran, it contains the fewest calories and helps prevent colon cancer.

If you add bran to your baking dough, your body will receive much more benefits than adding flour. And extra pounds will not appear. Of course, healthy baked goods with bran should be eaten in moderation - one medium piece a day will be enough. You can eat bran just like that, but baking with this product will diversify your diet.

How to eat properly so that you can also eat baked goods? Everything is very simple! You can eat any healthy foods. These are meat, fish, eggs, dairy and fermented milk products, cereals, bread, vegetables, herbs, berries, fruits, dried fruits, nuts, vegetable oils. That is, nutrition should be varied and balanced.

The best options are yogurt without additives, cottage cheese, kefir, 1.5% milk, low-fat and mild cheese. You should choose rye, bran or whole grain bread. It should be consumed in moderation. But plant foods (vegetables, berries, fruits and greens) can be eaten in large quantities. As for nuts and dried fruits, they should be consumed in small quantities and preferably in the first half of the day.

As for healthy baked goods with bran, it can also be included in the menu in the morning. Then by the evening the calories received will be gone, which means that extra pounds will not appear.

Creating a menu is very easy. In the morning you need to prepare yourself a hearty breakfast, lunch should also be hearty, and dinner should be protein-packed and light. And don't forget about snacks.
