Mimosa salad"
“Mimosa” is a simple one that has a rich taste and has long become an integral part of the holiday table. The main components of the dish are onion, egg, mayonnaise, fish, and the remaining ingredients are of secondary importance and can be changed (cheese, butter, potatoes, carrots, apple).
Ingredients:
- Eggs - 3 pcs.
- Green onions.
- Potatoes - 3 pcs.
- Salt.
- Mayonnaise.
- Sardines in oil.
The classic version of Mimosa is very simple to prepare. Potatoes should be boiled in their skins, cooled and cut. Carrots and eggs should also be boiled. The salad is laid out in layers, each of them well lubricated with mayonnaise, the following order is performed: fish, chopped potatoes, grated carrots, proteins. Layers can be repeated. The top layer is decorated with grated yolks, it’s good when they are bright, then the salad turns out very beautiful. The top of the dish can be decorated with chopped herbs. After cooking, the salad should be placed in the refrigerator, it should brew thoroughly.
Open the can of Sardine in Oil. Remove the fish from the jar and place in a separate bowl.
Hard boil the eggs. To do this, place them in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook from the moment of boiling for 10 minutes. Then remove the eggs, cool and peel. Finely chop one egg.
Divide another egg into yolk and white. This egg will be used for decoration.
Peel, wash and finely chop the onions. Add to the sardine in a bowl.
Add the chopped egg to the chopped onion and sardine and mash all the ingredients with a fork. Salt and pepper the salad to taste. If desired, you can add mayonnaise. But I cooked without it.
Place the sardine, boiled egg and chopped onion mixture on a large plate.
Grate the egg white on a fine grater. Give them half of the salad.
Grate the yolk and add the second part of the salad to it.
Cut cherry tomatoes into two parts and place on the salad in the form of cherries. Sprigs of dill or parsley will be cuttings of “cherries”. I made the leaves from a sprig of dill and cucumber peel. Make a edging around the salad with mayonnaise. Salad with sardines and eggs is ready. Simple, tasty and elegant. Serve on the festive table.

Salad with sardines and eggs
As a basis for the recipe, we will take 1 can of canned food and boiled eggs - this is a universal recipe for sardine salad in oil. You can add various fresh or boiled vegetables and mushrooms to the ingredients, and also change the dressing to your taste.
Ingredients:
- canned fish – 1 can;
- egg – 3 pcs.;
- green onions – 50 g;
- mayonnaise – 200 g;
- parsley – 50 g;
- dill – 50 g.
Preparation
To prepare a salad from canned sardines, first boil the eggs, peel them and cut them into cubes. Mash the fish with a fork. We don't need oil in this recipe. Finely chop the greens, mix all the ingredients and season with mayonnaise. You can add 2 packs of croutons to the ingredients, for example, fish-flavored, and prepare a salad with croutons and sardines. After adding them, the salad should be served immediately so that the croutons remain crispy.
Salad with cracker and sardine
This salad, in addition to being easy and simple to prepare, can also be served on a festive table, since all the ingredients are laid out in layers, and the shape resembles a cake.
Ingredients:
- canned fish – 1 can;
- egg – 4 pcs.;
- sandwich crackers – 24 pcs.;
- cheese – 150 g;
- green onions - 2 arrows;
- mayonnaise - to taste;
- garlic – 2 cloves.
Preparation
Place one layer of saltine cracker on the bottom of the salad bowl. Boil the eggs, peel, grate the whites on a medium grater, then mix with 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and place on a cracker. On top is the next layer of cracker. Mash the fish with a fork, do not drain the oil; in a salad made from canned sardines, it will perfectly saturate the cracker. Then we put it in the next layer in a salad bowl, sprinkle with finely chopped green onions and cover with another layer of crackers. Grate the cheese on a medium grater, mix with squeezed garlic and 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise and place on a cracker. On top is the next layer of salted cracker, which we grease with 2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise and sprinkle with grated yolk. You can decorate a salad made from canned sardines with sprigs of herbs - parsley, dill or fresh cucumber.
Sardine and rice salad
Ingredients:
- canned fish – 1 can;
- egg – 2 pcs.;
- boiled rice – 1 cup;
- onion – 1 head;
- mayonnaise – 1-2 tbsp. spoons.
Preparation
Mash the canned food with a fork (do not drain the oil), mix with boiled rice, finely chopped eggs and onions, season with mayonnaise and place in a salad bowl.
Salad with mushrooms and sardines
Ingredients:
- canned fish – 1 can;
- egg – 5 pcs.;
- mushrooms – 400 g;
- carrots – 1 pc.;
- onion – 1 head;
- pickled cucumber – 2 pcs.;
- cheese - to taste;
- mayonnaise – 1-2 tbsp. spoons.
Preparation
Cut the mushrooms (preferably champignons) into slices and lightly fry. Finely chop the onion, grate the carrots and fry the vegetables in a frying pan, then drain the oil so that the sardine salad, the recipe for which already contains enough canned oil, is not too greasy. Knead the fish, cut the cucumber into strips, grate the boiled eggs and lay out all the ingredients in layers in a salad bowl. Mushrooms come first, then eggs, then cucumber, sardines and onions and carrots on top. Grease each layer of canned sardine salad with mayonnaise. Before serving, sprinkle with grated cheese.

Secrets of making salad
Canned food can be substituted - if the recipe calls for sardine, and you have saury on hand, feel free to use it.
