Preparation:

I bake the meatballs in the oven with gravy. You can, of course, fry it and then simmer it with sauce in a saucepan. But in this case you will have to stand at the stove longer. And the finished dish will be an order of magnitude higher in calories. Therefore, if you follow the principles of proper nutrition, then cook the meat balls in the oven.

Gravy for a dish can be made in different ways. This time I prepared a tomato-sour cream version. This filling turns out to be very delicate. If you are losing weight, then you can do without sour cream and make it only from tomato paste. Pure tomato sauce will be a bright red color that looks beautiful on the plate.

If you wish, you can put butter or cream in the gravy instead of sour cream. And there is always room for experimentation with spices. The main thing is to taste the sauce before pouring the meatballs for salt, acidity, sweetness, and spiciness.

Ingredients:

  • minced meat (I used pork, you can have beef or pork-beef) - 700 gr.
  • rice - 200 ml (small glass of raw cereal)
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • onions - 1 pc.
  • large carrots - 1 pc.
  • sour cream - 3 tbsp. l. (180 gr.)
  • tomato paste - 3 tbsp. l.
  • flour - 1 tbsp. l.
  • salt, spices - to taste
  • sugar in gravy - 0.5 tsp.
  • water - 0.5 l

Preparation:

First you need to cook the rice in salted water. I use brown rice, unpolished, and it cooks twice as long as usual. But it retains a healthy shell, which contains a lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals.

Cook the rice until half cooked. Then it will go in the oven.

While the rice is cooking, prepare the minced meat. I have it ready. If you have a piece of meat, then run it through a meat grinder. You can also miss the onion there. I finely chopped the onion.

In a bowl, combine minced meat, chopped onion, and boiled rice until half cooked.

Add 2 eggs, salt (don’t forget that the rice is already salted), and pepper. I also add natural spices to the meat (without flavor enhancers).

Mix all components thoroughly until smooth.

Turn on the oven and preheat to 180 degrees. Grease a deep baking tray with a little vegetable oil. Form meatball balls. I got 21 pieces.

Let's make our gravy. Place sour cream, tomato paste and a spoonful of flour in a bowl.

Mix everything thoroughly until smooth.

Now you need to dilute this thick mass with water. Pour water little by little and stir. This way there will be no lumps of flour in the gravy. If you throw flour into water, it will be very difficult to get rid of lumps. Season the mixture with salt and pepper, adding a little sugar if it is too sour for your taste.

There's one last step left. Peel the carrots and grate them on a medium grater.

Add carrots to the gravy. And mix everything.

Pour the gravy over our meatballs. Place in the preheated oven to bake for 45 minutes.

These meatballs turn out very tasty. There will be a lot of sauce, enough to pour over the side dish.

You can serve with mashed potatoes and a vegetable side dish. Or you can just eat meatballs. After all, they already contain rice, vegetables, and meat.

  • minced meat – 0.7 kg;
  • onions – 2 pcs.;
  • garlic – 2 cloves;
  • egg – 1 pc.;
  • carrots – 1 pc.;
  • sweet pepper – 1 pc.;
  • celery root – 1 tsp;
  • sour cream - half a glass;
  • flour – 30 g;
  • cheese – 0.1 kg.

Cooking method:

  1. Chop 1 onion, crush the garlic, mix everything with minced meat and egg. Salt, pepper, knead, form into balls.
