I’ve made this salad twice already; it’s not even a salad, but more like a hearty appetizer. If you want to surprise your guests and surprise yourself, prepare this salad; its taste will definitely not disappoint you.

Ingredients:

  • Pancakes (thin) - 6 pcs.;
  • Mushrooms - 250 gr.;
  • Bacon - 150 gr.;
  • Cheese cheese - 250 gr.;
  • Sour cream - 200 gr.;
  • Potatoes (boiled) - 4 pcs.;
  • Carrots (boiled) - 2-3 pcs.;
  • Onion - 1 pc.;
  • Garlic - 2 cloves;
  • Parsley;
  • Mayonnaise - 250 gr.

Salad “Bouquet of tea roses”. Step by step recipe

  1. Chop the onion, bacon and parsley. It’s better to chop everything in this salad finely, so it turns out tastier.
  2. Fry the onion in a frying pan with oil for about 3 minutes, then add the mushrooms. Salt, fry, and then add bacon.
  3. Leave the mushrooms and onions aside and grate the cheese, grate the garlic, chopped parsley and sour cream to the cheese.
  4. Cut the carrots into thin strips. Carrots will serve as the core of our “roses”.
  5. Grease the pancake with the cheese filling, add a strip of carrots and tightly wrap the pancake with a roll.
  6. Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater and you can assemble the salad. This must be done either in a springform pan or in a deep dish. Cover the pan with cling film.
  7. Cut the pancake rolls into pieces 3-4 cm long and place along the bottom of the pan.
  8. Grease a layer of pancakes with mayonnaise, and lay out the mushroom filling, coat it thoroughly with mayonnaise on top and put a layer of potatoes and press tightly.
  9. Place the salad in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  10. Cover the potato salad with leaves, place a plate on top and turn the salad onto it.

The salad is based on the traditional “herring under a fur coat”. This is how you can present everyone’s favorite salad on the holiday table.

A la “under a fur coat”

This recipe is somewhat different from the one that is used to being prepared in every second kitchen in Russia. The “Rose” salad in this case will be decorated differently, but the ingredients can be left the same. You will need:

  • fatty lightly salted herring without seeds and giblets;
  • a couple of boiled potatoes;
  • onion;
  • mayonnaise;
  • boiled carrots;
  • a couple of medium boiled beets.

Salt should be added solely to taste. Preparing the salad will not take much time if you prepare all the ingredients in advance. The onion is cut into small cubes, then poured generously with mayonnaise and left to marinate for a while. At this point you can start preparing the remaining ingredients. Potatoes and carrots are cut into as small and symmetrical cubes as possible, one beet too. The second one will be needed for decoration. Since the “Rose” salad, the recipe for which is described, is similar to a “fur coat,” the decoration will be the main feature of the dish. The herring is also cut into the smallest cubes possible. All ingredients are mixed, including onions pickled in mayonnaise. The remaining beets are cut into thin slices. If the root crop is large, then you can use half rings. They are laid out in a salad, collecting the rosette: from the core to the edge. The larger the petals, the more open the flower appears. By the way, this option is also called “Black Rose” salad. Beets are very brown, almost black in color.
