Halloween Sandwiches

Take the required number of buns, ham, cheese and salty straws. Cut the buns in half, place cheese and ham on one half (you can brush it with your favorite sauce if you wish) and cover with the other half. Break the straw into approximately equal pieces (5-7 cm) and build the legs of a “bug” from it, as shown in the picture. Use the sauce to make impromptu eyes (or buy them in advance at a culinary decor store). A quick and delicious Halloween snack is ready!

How to have fun with the mysterious Halloween holiday?

Initially, it was celebrated as the transition from summer to winter, as the end of the harvest, as a time of communication with the spirits of the dead, and did not initially imply any horror stories.

But history does not stand still. It’s hard to say how this happened, but little by little this peaceful holiday was supplemented by the appeasement of evil spirits who had come from nowhere, and with the advent of Christianity everything changed completely, demons, witches and other evil spirits appeared.

Today, this holiday is a time for all sorts of funny and exciting traditions, carving flaming heads out of pumpkins and scary bedtime stories.

For us, Halloween is not an original holiday. But why not celebrate it and make a fun show out of it. But just how to do this?

1. The very first thing that comes to mind is, of course, dressing up. Just creating the image of a witch, devil, vampire, ghoul, skeleton, ghost, and various miracles will become a fascinating activity. You can, of course, buy a fancy dress costume in a specialized store, but it’s still better to try to make it yourself. I’ll never forget how we carefully sewed on the damn tail, which then in some incomprehensible way ended up not at the back, where it was supposed to be, but somewhere on the side. Try wrapping yourself in bandages, and any mummy will envy you, although it will be difficult to do it yourself, and you will need a lot of bandages, but you will have a lot of fun. The makeup is matched to the costume accordingly, although it looks more like war paint. Don't forget about your hairstyle and other accessories. Creativity in such matters is always welcome.

2. Another point on your program could be decorating a house, apartment, corner, or nook. Take a large pumpkin and build an evil burning pumpkin head. This is done quite simply, cut off the bottom of the pumpkin, clean it (by the way, you can cook many wonderful dishes from what you clean). Next, it’s quite simple, cut out the eyes, mouth, put a candle inside and you’re done. But be careful and careful with fire, safety rules have not yet been canceled. You can hang various spiders throughout the house, weave a web from ropes, try placing a drawn skeleton in the closet, and then watch the reaction. Skulls, mice, bats, frogs, lizards and much more (preferably inanimate) will come in handy.

3. On this day you are supposed to tell fortunes. And you can guess as you like. From what has attracted attention as a truly Halloween fortune telling is fortune telling with apples. The cut peel is thrown into the fire. Then, based on the shape that the peel takes, they try to determine the first letter of their betrothed’s name. You can throw two chestnuts into the fire. If the fruits burn side by side, then the girl will live in friendship and harmony with her sweetheart; if they roll in different directions, their paths will diverge in different directions. This sign also seems very tasty: if you put an apple under your pillow on Halloween night and make a wish, and eat the apple in the morning, your wish will come true.

4. If you can’t sit at home on this wonderful day, go wherever your eyes lead you. And they can look at nightclubs that are trying to organize some kind of themed party on this day. If clubs are not quite your thing, welcome to the cinemas to watch scary, scary films. If you don't want to watch movies, just walk down the streets and scare passers-by. For those who want to learn new things, an unusual tour of Moscow: “To the places of Moscow ghosts. Secrets and mysteries of the capital." If your desire to go somewhere is more reminiscent of the spirit of nomadic gypsies, then “gypsies in a noisy crowd...” can go to the outback of France, the town of Chalindrey, where the annual Witches Festival is held.

Of course, this is not a complete list of what you can do for Halloween. The only limitation here is your imagination. In any case, the most important thing is to get as much pleasure and fun as possible from such an unusual holiday.

Mini-pizza “Ghost”

You will need small flat round buns (or another shape), tomato sauce and white cheese. Cut the buns in half, brush the halves with sauce and place melted pieces of cheese in the shape of ghosts on top (to do this, build an improvised mold in the form of a foil outline and place the cheese directly into it in a dry frying pan, then let it harden a little and carefully transfer it to the pizza). Eyes can be made from black peppercorns (just remember to remove them before use).

Correctly forming and baking dessert

Having made the sand base, you should immediately begin shaping the cookies. To do this, you need to pinch off a piece of dough and roll it into a sausage that is as close as possible to the size and shape of a real human finger. If necessary, several grooves can be made on the products to imitate folds. You should also place whole peeled almonds on one end of the cookie. In this form, all the cookies need to be moved to a baking sheet and baked in the oven for half an hour. During this time, the “fingers” will be completely cooked and will become rosy and crispy.

Cheesecake without baking

We're sure your Halloween party guests will love this delicious cheesecake served in a glass for dessert. The smooth layers of vanilla cheese and crunchy Oreo will have everyone licking their cup for every last crumb. :)

To prepare, grind the Oreo cookies in a blender and distribute them evenly across the bottom of each glass. Beat the cream cheese with a little powdered sugar to taste and vanilla extract for flavor until creamy. Carefully divide the mixture into two parts and mix one half with orange food coloring. Place the white creamy mixture in a second layer in the glasses, then repeat the layer of cookie crumbs again and place a bright layer of orange cheese mixture on top. Decorate the cheesecake in the glass with small candies, colored sprinkles or topping.

For a children's party: place a "ghost"

at every place prepared for party guests. Wrap a large round lollipop in a piece of white plastic bag in the shape of a "ghost". Tie a black ribbon around each "neck" and draw large "ghost" eyes using a black marker.

Spider Cupcakes and Worm Pie

: bake a flat-shaped chocolate pie, sprinkle butter crumbs on top and add “worms” that “crawl” out of the pie.

"The Eyes of Old Dead Joe"

: cut the eggs in half; remove the yolks. Fill with whipped cream "heaping" so that the cream is slightly above the edge. Place a green olive in the center and use red food coloring and a toothpick to give the whole arrangement the appearance of a bloodshot “eye.”

"Witch's Drink"

: Mix equal parts orange juice with pineapple and ginger beer. Cool well. The drink will fizz and bubble a lot if you add a little baking soda to it.

Instead of adding ice, put a frozen “hand” in this “witch’s potion”. You can do it as follows. Fill a plastic glove with water, tie the wrist tightly with a rubber band, and place it in the freezer. When the water freezes, immerse the glove in warm water for a few seconds - then the finished “hand” will be easy to remove from it. Place your "hand" in the "witch's drink".

Chocolate candies with spicy filling

The perfect treat for a Halloween party!:) The main requirement for these pumpkin caramel spiced chocolates is a special skull shape. But we hope you can find one. If not, prepare it in any other form for candies that you have and make themed decor for them, showing a little imagination.

You will need about 200g of dark chocolate and a pumpkin-caramel-coconut sauce, which is best made the night before. To prepare it, take 400 ml full-fat coconut milk, 225 g brown sugar, 245 g pumpkin puree, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom and the same amount of ground allspice. Mix all the ingredients together and cook in a slow cooker on the “Stew” mode with low heat for about 7-9 hours.

Tip: Store it in the refrigerator and use it as a topping in desserts or add a few teaspoons to your coffee.

How to prepare sweets? In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped chocolate until smooth. Remove from heat. Using a spoon or brush, completely coat the inside of each mold with chocolate. Place in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden faster. Then fill the future chocolates with a small amount of the spicy sauce you prepared the day before (it should be cold!), leaving room at the top for a second layer of chocolate. Heat the remaining chocolate and fill each mold, completely covering the filling. Gently tap the mold on the counter to remove any bubbles and place the candies in the refrigerator until completely set. These candies can be stored for up to 10 days.

Scottish Eve Pie

Article on the topic

Cooking for Halloween: 6 interesting pumpkin dishes This is a traditional Scottish pie for celebrating Samhain - items to predict the future are placed in it (a button that predicts good luck, a ring - marriage, a chicken collarbone - wish fulfillment, a toy horseshoe - for good luck, etc. .) However, such items can be hidden not only in a pie, but in a large bowl of mashed potatoes or, in the north of Scotland, in furarag, oatmeal made from flour and whey

You will need: 200 gr. Oils, 220 gr. sah. powder, 4 eggs, 350 gr. pancake flour, 3 tbsp. milk For decoration: 110 gr. apple jam or marmalade, 450 gr. sah. Powders, Juice, Saffron for coloring

Preparation: Beat the butter and sugar until the consistency of the soufflé, beat the eggs and gradually add them into the soufflé, adding a little sifted flour if the dough starts to curdle. Place objects (tamkmans) into the dough, wrapped one at a time in oiled paper, pour in the milk and add the rest of the flour. Transfer the dough into a round shape and spread it so that the center is pressed down a little. The cake is baked at tº=180º for more than an hour, until it rises properly and begins to lag behind the walls. It should be removed from the mold when slightly cooled and warm. Cut in half horizontally, coat with jam, and connect the halves. Then mix the juice (apple or orange) with powdered sugar, color with saffron and pour it into the middle of the pie, allowing the syrup to flow down the sides in icicles. Let the syrup harden, dry, and decorate the pie with candied fruits.

history of the holiday

Halloween was previously widely celebrated only in the United States, but now this holiday is becoming increasingly popular in Russia. What do we know about this holiday, where does it originate? Is Halloween more than just a night of trick-or-treating for kids in costumes?

Halloween is one of the oldest holidays in the world. Its history dates back thousands of years, from the Celtic festival of Samhain, the Roman Day of Pomona (goddess of plants) and the Christian "All Saints' Day". It combines the Celtic tradition of honoring evil spirits and the Christian tradition of worshiping all saints.
