Lush pancakes
They are prepared approximately the same as regular ones, only you need to prepare the onion. Strong large onions are peeled (4 pcs.), washed and chopped. It all depends on your tastes: you can simply chop it if you like slightly crunchy pieces, or you can use a blender to puree it - then the “dough” will be smooth and homogeneous. Four spoons of semolina are poured into it. If it seems a bit runny, you can increase the volume of the cereal. First, lightly beat three eggs with a fork and add to the mixture.
After kneading, the dough is left to stand for half an hour, mixed again, salted and peppered. Onion pancakes are fried in the same way as regular ones: spoon the dough onto a heated frying pan with oil, and after browning, turn the cake over. Tasty, satisfying, but not high in calories!
Onion cutlets - step-by-step recipe with photos
To prepare 6 servings you will need:
- half a kilo of onion;
- 100 grams of semolina;
- pepper, table salt (to taste);
- a pair of eggs;
- three garlic cloves;
- one and a half glasses of tomato juice.
You also need to prepare 50 ml of the solution. oils
Actions:
- Peel and wash the onion, chop into small pieces. You should use a knife, not a meat grinder or grater.
- Then add eggs, salt and stir the mixture. Next, grate the garlic cloves on a fine grater and add to the onion mixture. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- Heat a frying pan with oil. Form into patties and place on a hot surface with oil. Fry on each side for a few minutes until golden brown.
- Next, pour the tomato juice into the remaining oil in the pan. Cook for a few minutes.

There are not only onions
In spring, the body, missing vitamins, greets a variety of greens with great joy. We suggest frying onion pancakes, the basis for which will be onions. A third of a kilogram of this greenery is finely chopped (a food processor would be inappropriate here, so it’s better to use a knife). Add half a spoonful of sugar and a tablespoon of salt into the mixture. Their number is approximate, it can be adjusted later.
Next, mix everything and add three eggs. Work with a spoon again and add flour. It is added little by little, with constant kneading, to create a consistency similar to regular pancakes. After final mixing, you can fry. These flatbreads are very tasty with sour cream.

The “pancakes” themselves are prepared in the same way as described in the very first recipe. If desired, you can replace the semolina with flour - then the onion pancakes will acquire a denser structure, which is important when stewing in sauce. The flatbreads are fried until golden and set aside.
For the gravy, finely chop a medium onion and grate a small carrot. They are fried in a completely traditional way, tomato paste (4-5 large spoons) is mixed into it, the sauce is added with salt and pepper at your discretion and flavored with sugar to eliminate unnecessary sourness. Some greens are chopped into the gravy - onions and parsley. Next, simmer the mixture for five minutes. Then the pancakes are placed in the sauce for ten minutes, the fire is turned down to the lowest setting - and you can set the table.
Onion pancakes - recipe
Making onion fritters will begin with preparing the onions. Onion heads should be peeled. Then pass it through a meat grinder, or chop it into two to four parts and grind it using a blender.
Crumble the wet yeast into a bowl. Fill with warm water. To speed up fermentation, be sure to add a coffee spoon of sugar or a level teaspoon of sugar. Stir. Let the yeast sit for about 15 minutes.
Pour kefir into a bowl.
To prepare onion pancakes, you can use either regular kefir with a fat content of 1.5 to 2.5%, or sour milk. You definitely won’t notice the difference in the taste of onion pancakes. Place onion puree into kefir.
Wash and finely chop the green dill. Add it to a bowl with onions and kefir.
Beat in one egg. In principle, you can add two eggs.
The more eggs you add, the fluffier the onion pancakes will be. But since I used additional yeast in the recipe for these onion pancakes with kefir, I limited myself to only one egg. For additional flavor of onion pancakes, you can add a variety of spices, aromatic herbs and spices to the dough. In this case, we use chicken broth seasoning or you can use a bouillon cube.
Mix all pancake batter ingredients thoroughly. Pour active yeast into the almost finished dough. You can tell that the yeast has entered the active phase by air bubbles and foam on their surface. Stir.
It is advisable to sift the wheat flour for pancakes before adding it to the dough. Pour the sifted flour into the dough in small portions. Stir the dough after each new portion of added flour. The dough for onion pancakes with kefir, in principle, is not much different from any other pancake dough. The thickness of the dough is approximately the same as for biscuits, but much thicker than for thin pancakes.
Mix the dough for onion pancakes thoroughly so that there are no lumps of flour. Place a frying pan with a small amount of oil on the stove to heat. Drop the onion fritters into the pan by the tablespoon.
After 2-3 minutes, turn them over with a spatula to the other side. Fry the pancakes on the other side.
Traditionally, these onion pancakes are served hot with sauces. You can make completely different sauces for pancakes. Cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, tomato, mustard and horseradish sauce are perfect for this type of onion pancakes with kefir. Enjoy your meal. Recipe for onion pancakes without fast food ingredients
People avoid animal products not only in order to stay slim, but also when fasting. In this case, the above cooking methods are not suitable because the recipes contain eggs. For those who are fasting, another method will be useful. In a glass of warm water, add two tablespoons of sugar and a spoonful of instant yeast (dry). They are left right on the kitchen table for a quarter of an hour until a lush foam cap forms. The onion is grated or finely chopped. For spice, you can add a couple of garlic cloves to it. A glass of flour is sifted, a depression is made in the slide, into which yeast, onions, chopped parsley and three tablespoons of vegetable oil are introduced. The dough is kneaded until smooth and left under a towel until risen.
Onion pancakes are baked according to the standard method. If you want denser cakes, increase the dose of flour, and if you want tender “pancakes,” add more onion.
Based on the proposed onion pancakes, you can come up with other lean recipes, for example, supplement the onions with cabbage or carrots. Yes, and experiments with other vegetables are allowed, which will give excellent (and tasty!) results.
How to make green onion pancakes
A recipe with the addition of green onions adds variety to the regular menu. Thanks to this, the pancakes turn out juicy, fresh and very tasty.
To prepare them you need to use:
- 150-250 g green onions;
- two medium chicken eggs;
- two tbsp. l. semolina or flour;
- 1 tsp. Sahara;
- a little salt - to taste;
- sunflower oil.
Prepare onion pancakes from green onions as follows:
- The entire amount of green onions is washed and dried. Then it is finely cut.
- Chicken eggs and seasonings are added to the mixture in small portions. Then flour and semolina are gradually introduced. The resulting composition must be thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
- At the same time, you need to heat the sunflower oil in a frying pan. Place the pancakes with a spoon on the frying pan and press down a little to make them flatter. Fry them over medium or very low heat, always on each side.
It is advisable to fry the pancakes in a frying pan with a tightly closed lid. Thanks to this, the green onions inside will be thoroughly steamed and become very soft.
It is advisable to add a few tablespoons of rich sour cream to the dough to make the pancakes softer.
You can also serve them with sour cream or garlic sauce. This will perfectly complement the taste of onion pancakes, making it richer and more memorable.
