Delicious and unusual peach dishes
Are there many people who can confidently say that they don’t like peaches at all? It seems to us that there are only a few such unique personalities, but the bulk are those who, as soon as the season begins, run for the first kilogram of a juicy and incredibly tasty natural delicacy. What’s surprising is that we love them not only for their bright taste, but also for the variety of dishes that are very easy to prepare from them.
The result is always positive, because the subtle specific taste of this fruit will easily decorate any culinary creation. In addition, peaches can always be prepared for the winter, so you can cook something interesting with their help at any time of the year.
What is simple and, most importantly, tasty to cook from peach? In fact, there are a lot of options! Some people prefer to prepare various desserts from ripe and tender fruits, because they go perfectly with ice cream or baked goods, resulting in very tasty and airy pies, buns and even cakes.
Peaches go great with light meringues and also harmonize perfectly with various chocolate or berry sauces. Those who are extremely interested in the beneficial properties of this product try to stock up on it for future use, so they make various interpretations of preserves, marmalade or compote; pickled peaches cooked in their own juice are a special delicacy.
Such treats will always decorate your table, both in sunny summer and cold winter; the main thing is to carry out the preservation procedure correctly so that the valuable product does not spoil. Such an active love for this fruit is quite justified, because peaches are really not only very tasty, but also healthy: they contain a record number of vitamins, iron, potassium and calcium, being an excellent antidepressant and immune stimulant.
In addition, peaches are classified as dietary products, because one fruit contains no more than 50 kcal, which makes it possible to consume them on various weight loss diets.
Jam recipe
To make the jam transparent and aromatic, it is important to carefully select ripe and fairly hard fruits so that they do not turn into porridge during prolonged cooking. It is also better not to use unripe fruits, since in this case the jam may turn out without a special peach aroma and taste. So what do we need?
- peaches – 1 kg;
- lemon juice – 2 tbsp. spoons;
- sugar – 1 kg;
- water – 200 ml.
We wash the peaches under water, cut them into halves and pit them, then cut them into small pieces. In a small saucepan, cook the syrup from sugar and water, wait for the sugar to completely dissolve, then turn off the heat, set the saucepan aside and let the syrup cool to room temperature. Now you can add lemon juice to the syrup - this will significantly improve the rather bland taste of the peach, and also prevent the sugar and fruit from crystallizing.
While the syrup cooks and cools slightly, the sliced peach pieces will wilt a little, which will help them stay intact during cooking. When the syrup has cooled to a slightly warm state, transfer the peaches into it and leave for a day, remembering to periodically stir the future jam to ensure it is evenly soaked.
The next day, the peaches in syrup must be brought to a boil, then turn off the stove and leave it for another day. It is enough to cover the pan with thin gauze from dust, and stir periodically throughout the day.
The next day, bring the jam to a boil again, then turn the heat to low and continue to cook it for another 7-10 minutes, approximately 200 ml of liquid should evaporate (do not forget to stir it constantly). Next, put the jam into jars and close with a lid.
Recipe for peach compote for the winter
To prepare aromatic compote you will need:
- peach slices – 400 g;
- sugar – 300 g.
The calculation is based on a 2-liter jar; if you are going to close the jar with a smaller volume, then the amount of ingredients will naturally decrease. So, first wash the jars thoroughly and pour boiling water over the lids.
Peaches also need to be washed and cut into small slices. Next, we put our fruit into jars (it should occupy about a third of the container), then fill them with boiling water and cover with lids, leave to steep for 60 minutes.
After the time has passed, all the water from the cans must be drained into a saucepan, pour sugar into the peaches, and put the resulting syrup in the saucepan on the fire and bring it to a boil. Then remove it from the heat and pour the resulting compote into the jars of peach.
Cover the resulting hot compote with a sterilized lid and roll it up. After this, the jars need to be turned over from top to bottom and placed in a previously prepared warm place for two days, it is important that they cool completely. After this, the finished treat can be put away in the pantry in anticipation of the winter season.
Meat sauce recipe
The main advantage of this sauce is that it is absolutely natural, and therefore even healthy, unlike commercially advertised analogues. In addition, it can easily be prepared for future use; the result is very tasty and aromatic, which ideally complements the taste of any meat. So, we will need:
- peaches – 700 g;
- apple cider vinegar – 60 ml (you can use dry white wine instead of half the vinegar);
- sugar – 1 glass;
- Dijon mustard – 40 g;
- mustard powder – 1.5 tbsp. spoons;
- mustard seed – 1 tbsp. spoon;
- salt – 1 teaspoon;
- water – 0.5 cups.
We wash the peaches, peel them and cut them into small pieces. Then mix all the other spices and ingredients in a saucepan, put it on the fire and wait for it to boil. Immediately after this, begin stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Make sure that all the grains have dissolved, then put the peaches in the pan and continue to simmer over medium heat. It is important to wait until they become soft - about 20 minutes should pass.
Next, we soften the entire cooked mass with a puree masher; for simplicity, you can use a blender, although without unnecessary zeal, so that small pieces of peaches can still be felt. Then we continue to simmer for about 20 minutes, it is important to thicken the mass. Afterwards, pour the finished sauce into prepared jars, which we sterilize for about 15 minutes in boiling water and close.

Simple peach liqueur
The Portuguese say that even a cat won’t spoil such recipes. Regarding the drink that we are about to prepare, this is absolutely true.
Ingredients:
- fresh or frozen fruits – 350 g;
- good, high-quality vodka – 750 ml;
- water – 300 ml;
- granulated sugar – 130-150 g.
If the peaches tincture is prepared from frozen fruits, the juice that appears after defrosting is used together with the fruits.
Preparation
Scald fresh fruits with boiling water, then remove the skin, cut the pulp into several pieces, and remove the seeds.
Place the fruit cut into pieces into a 0.5 liter jar. Fill up to the neck with vodka. Cover with a tight lid and leave for 10-11 days. The jar should be kept in a warm, dark place for the entire specified period.
Afterwards, strain the liquid into a larger container, pour in the remaining vodka, add granulated sugar to the water. Mix thoroughly and leave for another three days. The drink is ready to drink and can be bottled.
As you can see, the recipe is really simple.
Peaches cookie recipe
1. Sift the flour through a sieve to get rid of lumps and make the future dough homogeneous and light.
2. Beat the eggs with sugar until it is completely dissolved.
3. Add butter, softened at room temperature, vanilla sugar and sour cream to a bowl. Beat again until smooth.
4. Mix the sifted flour with baking powder and add to the egg-butter mixture. Knead into a homogeneous dough. The consistency of the dough should be similar to plasticine. Be sure to wrap the finished dough in film and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
5. Roll the dough into balls slightly larger than a walnut. These will be preparations for our future peaches.
6. Preheat the oven to 200° C. Lightly grease a baking tray with butter. Cut each ball in half and place the flat side on a baking sheet.
7. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove the cookie halves from the oven and cool.
8. Using a knife, cut out some of the pulp from each half of the future peach for the filling.
9. Fill the resulting holes in the cookie halves with boiled condensed milk and glue the halves together. Our cookies are already starting to resemble peaches, all that remains is to color them.
10. Wash the beets and carrots, peel them and grate them on a fine grater.
11. Fold the bandage or gauze in two layers, put a spoonful of carrots in the middle and roll it up like a tampon. Make a tampon with beets in the same way.
12. Pour sugar into a separate plate. First, color the “peaches” with carrots, and then brown the sides of each peach using beets. While the cookies are still wet, quickly roll in sugar.
13. Let stand for about half an hour so that the sugar sets and does not crumble. Our Peaches cookies are ready, bon appetit!
