Shrimp pasta - this dish came to our table from Italian national cuisine. In Italy, pasta is called pasta, which literally translates as “dough.”

Secrets and subtleties of cooking

Despite the simplicity of preparing the food, there are certain nuances, following which you will get an excellent result.

  • You can cook pasta with any pasta: spaghetti, noodles, shells, cones, spirals, vermicelli, etc.
  • All vegetables for the sauce are cut into small pieces. If you choose long pasta (spaghetti), then the vegetables need to be cut more finely; if you choose short pasta (noodles, vermicelli, horns, shells), then the vegetables are cut more coarsely.
  • Italian housewives cook pasta until it is “al dente”, i.e. slightly undercooked. It looks something like this: the outside of the pasta is already cooked and soft, but the inside is still elastic.
  • It complements shrimp pasta well: pesto sauce, grated cheese, any chopped herbs, balsamic vinegar.

We will adhere to the same rules when preparing this recipe. Let's see how to cook shrimp pasta in creamy sauce.

Bolognese: a delicious Italian spaghetti sauce

Spaghetti with shrimp in creamy sauce - seven easy recipes

The main dish of Italians is pasta. And you need to show remarkable imagination and culinary skill in order to use them to prepare different and tasty food every day.

But they do it wonderfully! Moreover, any pasta dish has a lot of variations. As, for example, the classic of the genre - spaghetti with shrimp in creamy sauce.

We will tell you how to cook traditional pasta in sauce and what culinary delights you can come up with based on it.

Spaghetti with shrimp in creamy sauce - basic recipe

A good sauce is half the battle. Even the simplest pasta will sparkle in a new way if you dress it in an excellent cream sauce. And if you add aromatic Italian herbs and real Parmesan, you will get the taste and aroma of a true Italian dish.

So, for this recipe you will need the following:

  • spaghetti or other durum pasta – 450 g;
  • virgin oil – 3 tbsp. spoons;
  • king prawns – 600 g;
  • 3 small cloves of fresh garlic;
  • 350 g of maximum heavy cream;
  • spices in the form of ground black pepper and salt;
  • parsley and basil.

It's done like this

  1. The pasta is boiled. You can use any type of Italian pasta or regular Russian spaghetti made from durum flour.
  2. While they are cooking, prepare the sauce.
    Fry the sliced garlic in oil until golden brown, then take it out and throw it away.
  3. Place peeled shrimp in aromatic oil (you can take them with tails, but then remove them after frying) and fry.
  4. Pour the cream into the pan and cook everything, stirring, until semi-thick.
  5. All that remains is to add salt, pepper and herbs, boil everything and add boiled pasta to this wonderful sauce. Afterwards, everything should be mixed and served.

Advice! Pasta with shrimp, like other versions of Italian pasta, does not tolerate overcooked spaghetti. Al dente – this cooking method is a must for Italians.

However, our compatriots do not always understand this slightly damp consistency.

There is a good recommendation for them - when the pasta is ready to the “Italian” state, turn off the heat and pour a glass of cold, or better yet, ice water into it. Let them sit for a while, and then they need to be thrown away without rinsing.

As a result, the pasta turns out soft and not overcooked due to the fact that it “reaches” in hot, but not boiling, water.

Black spaghetti with shrimps in creamy sauce

We suggest preparing an exotic type of pasta in sauce – black spaghetti with shrimp. This dish is prepared from special pasta to which cuttlefish ink is added. And although their appearance is somewhat unusual, they taste very interesting. They have a hint of something marine in them, which is why they make an ideal pasta with seafood.

We buy:

  • 250 g black spaghetti;
  • peeled shrimp – 300 g;
  • cream – 200 g;
  • lemon (you will need half).

You also need a small bunch of parsley, a couple of cloves of garlic and a couple of tablespoons of good olive oil.

  1. While the pasta is cooking, simmer the thawed shrimp in oil. When the juice has almost evaporated, add cream, crushed garlic, juice of half a lemon, some chopped parsley and spices.
  2. Mix everything, boil a little and combine with pasta.
  3. Sprinkle greens on top for decoration.

Cooking option with cheese

Based on the basic recipe, you can prepare a variety of sauce variations. A very pleasant and piquant dressing is made with cream and cheese.

In this case, we advise you not to adhere to strict proportions, except for the 1x1 ratio of shrimp and pasta.

That is, if you take 200 g of pasta, then take about the same amount, but not less, and peeled shrimp.

In addition to them you will need:

  • a piece of parmesan;
  • half a glass of heavy cream;
  • salt and ground black pepper;
  • a little dry white wine;
  • butter;
  • garlic;
  • Italian herbs.

We will prepare it like this:

  1. After frying the garlic, add the shrimp, previously defrosted in hot water, into the oil. Next, we fold them back, let the water drain and put them in the frying pan. Salt, pepper, herbs and cream also go there. Don't forget to add a handful of grated Parmesan and pour in the wine.
  2. We enjoy while the whole mixture gurgles, emitting dizzying aromas similar to the aromas of a real Italian trattoria.
  3. At the very end, add the prepared pasta and heat it up. Place the prepared pasta into plates, sprinkle grated cheese on top and garnish with fresh basil.

This recipe is prepared with king prawns, but tiger prawns, as well as the most common small ones, are also great. It is only important to observe the general proportions of the products.

Pasta with seafood in creamy garlic sauce

For half a kilo of seafood in this recipe, take 300 g of spaghetti, 250 g of cream, a couple of medium-sized tomatoes, a little garlic, salt, dried basil and pepper to taste.

This dish is made like this:

  1. Boil spaghetti according to recipe.
  2. In a frying pan, fry the defrosted seafood in a small amount of olive oil. More precisely, we don’t fry them, but evaporate the liquid from them.
  3. We grate the tomatoes or, after freeing them from the skin, simply chop them with a blender.
  4. Add the tomato mass to the seafood and mix.
  5. Season the mixture with dry basil, pepper and salt, add a little finely chopped garlic.
  6. After simmering everything together for about three minutes, add cream and keep it on the fire again for another couple of minutes.
  7. We spread the boiled spaghetti and mix everything again.

Sometimes it is advised to sprinkle such a dish with grated cheese.

So, in true Italian restaurants it is not customary to sprinkle cheese on spaghetti with seafood. Why is not clear, but that’s all it’s not accepted.

With added mushrooms

  1. While the pasta (200 g) is cooking, melt a couple of tablespoons of butter in a frying pan and simmer the sliced champignons (200 g) in it.
  2. Remove the mushrooms, add oil again and add a couple of cloves of crushed garlic.
  3. Once the aroma of the garlic has combined with the butter, add 75 g of soft cream cheese (Philadelphia is fine) and knead it until it is all melted.
  4. After adding a couple of tablespoons of chopped parsley and a little dry basil, add boiling water to make a moderately thick and homogeneous sauce.
  5. Add defrosted shrimp (200 g) and mushrooms here and simmer for another three minutes.

Transfer the finished pasta to the sauce, stir and serve to guests or family.

In tomato cream sauce

The pronounced creamy taste here is combined with the obvious spiciness of chili peppers and the tenderness of tomatoes.

For this recipe, it is better to take large king prawns, and also buy the following products:

  • for 400 g of shrimp you will need a pack of 300 g of spaghetti;
  • the same amount of fresh tomatoes;
  • chili pepper 1 pc.;
  • garlic - a few cloves;
  • liter bottle of cream;
  • 50 g hard grated cheese;
  • ground red pepper and salt;
  • dry white wine – 150 ml.

It's time to get started!

  1. While the pasta is cooking, add chopped peppers, crushed garlic, diced peeled tomatoes and ground pepper to a preheated frying pan.
  2. Pour in the wine, sprinkle everything with chopped herbs and simmer for a few minutes.
  3. It's time to add salt, add grated cheese, pour in cream and bring to a boil over low heat. As soon as the sauce becomes thicker, you need to remove it from the heat.
  4. In another frying pan in a small amount of oil, fry the shrimp very quickly until crusty and add to the sauce. It’s time to transfer the finished pasta there too.

Serve the dish with fresh basil sprigs.

  • 1 clove of garlic;
  • a piece of parmesan;
  • thyme sprigs;
  • a little olive oil for frying;
  • spices and salt to taste;
  • greenery.

Let's start the culinary magic

  1. You should soak the thyme in the oil to flavor it.
  2. Move the branches to the side, fry the peeled shrimp and remove them to a plate.
  3. Chop vegetables: tomatoes, onions, garlic, and olives.
  4. Add oil to the pan and let it heat up. Then fry the thyme and garlic in it and remove them.
  5. Add finely chopped onion, after 3 minutes add tomatoes, then olives and chopped herbs.
  6. Then we put shrimp there.
    A few pieces should be left for decoration under each plate.

We lay out the freshly boiled spaghetti in portions so that a kind of nest is formed. Put the sauce in the middle and place the shrimp on top.

For extra flavor, be sure to grate a little cheese on top of each serving.

Spaghetti with shrimp in creamy tomato sauce

But this is another recipe (albeit based on the basic one) for spaghetti in cream sauce. This time we will cook them with tomatoes. The recipe, although quite prosaic, is quite suitable for a friendly party or even a small family celebration.

Ingredients:

  • 400 g raw peeled shrimp;
  • 300 g spaghetti;
  • 6 pieces of tomatoes;
  • Onion head;
  • 3 cloves of garlic;
  • A tablespoon of olive oil;
  • Half a teaspoon of dried basil;
  • 4 tablespoons butter;
  • A glass of heavy cream;
  • Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.

Preparation:

Place a pot of water on the fire and let the water boil. Then add salt and place spaghetti in boiling water. Boil them until tender and place in a colander. Wash the tomatoes, pour boiling water over them and remove the outer skin, then cut the pulp into small cubes. Chop the onion and chop the garlic. Pour a little into the frying pan and put it on the fire. Place tomatoes, onions and garlic in heated oil, season them with basil and simmer over low heat. While the tomatoes and onions are stewing, fry the shrimp. To do this, clean them, sprinkle with oil, pepper and salt. Then fry the shrimp in a Dutch oven over high heat for three to four minutes. This time will be enough to cook the shrimp until cooked.

While we were preparing the shrimp, the tomato sauce had time to prepare. We check - if the liquid in the sauce has evaporated, then add cream to it, and then immediately add the fried shrimp. We cook our creamy tomato sauce with shrimp for literally two minutes over medium heat, and then put the boiled spaghetti in it. Mix everything carefully, sprinkle with shredded cheese and serve immediately.

Spaghetti with shrimps in creamy wine sauce

But this recipe is for real gourmets. Spaghetti with shrimps in creamy sauce with wine. Believe me, it's very tasty!

Ingredients:

  • Half a kilo of peeled shrimp;
  • Spaghetti packaging;
  • A glass of heavy cream;
  • A glass of dry white wine;

Preparation:

If our shrimp are frozen, then we first defrost them and clean them. Pour oil into the frying pan and place it on the fire. While the shrimp are frying, peel the garlic and chop three cloves on a grater or through a press, and then add them to the shrimp, after which we continue to fry for about another minute.

After this, pour the wine into the sauce without turning down the heat, let it boil, and then simmer over low heat for two minutes without covering the frying pan with a lid. Next, you need to add cream to the sauce, mix everything carefully and continue to simmer for another five minutes. Now we take a sample, add the required amount of salt and pepper, and if desired, add soy sauce (but this is not for everyone). We can assume that the sauce is ready.

Leave the sauce with shrimp to infuse, and in the meantime boil the spaghetti. Mix the finished spaghetti with the sauce, put it on plates and serve. Agree that this recipe requires minimal time and very little effort.
