Frying pan, Saucepan, Cutting board, Kitchen knife, Bowl, Iron spatula, Serving dish In order to make it easier and faster for us to fry the pumpkin, we first need to boil it.
But first of all, you still need to rinse it well under cold running water and peel it. Then cut it into small cubes (about 5x5 cm in size) and transfer it to a saucepan. Pour water on top and cook over medium heat. The main thing for us is to wait for the moment when it becomes slightly soft and you can remove it from the heat. Then drain the water and let the pumpkin cool at room temperature. At this time, you can start preparing the batter, in which we will actually fry the pumpkin. So, pour the flour into a shallow bowl, add salt, pepper, and a little turmeric. Stir and begin to add cold drinking water in portions, stirring constantly, and thus knead a slightly runny dough (the consistency should resemble thick sour cream). Place a frying pan over medium heat and add vegetable oil (do not skimp on it, as the pumpkin will absorb everything). Pour breadcrumbs into a plate. So, take pieces of pumpkin, dip them first on both sides in batter, and then in breadcrumbs, then transfer them to a frying pan and fry on both sides until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes on each side). Ready pumpkin can be served as an appetizer for meat dishes along with sauces (ketchup, for example). Bon appetit! – Turmeric does not have to be added to the batter.
– You can cut the pumpkin at your discretion: into large or small pieces.
– – When frying pumpkin, do not skimp on vegetable oil.
– You can also deep-fry pumpkin.
