Infant formulas may be mistakenly associated with some frivolous product that has a specific taste. In fact, mothers who have tried them themselves know that the taste is similar to powdered milk, only with more fat and better quality.
Manufacturers of baby food are forced to more strictly control the production process and the quality of the final products. This forced measure of maintaining recognized world standards guarantees that the most nutritious composition of milk formula will reach store shelves. Even those who have nothing to do with caring for children have heard more than once about how you can make candy from baby formula. Such sweetness will delight not only adults, but also children. This is especially true for housewives who love to pamper their household with exotic culinary bounties, entirely prepared with their own hands.
How to make candy from baby formula?
The proposed sweets, made from milk mixtures, are consumed without fear by both adults and children. For years, formulas for the production of infant formula, especially their hypoallergenic version, have been proven to guarantee the absence of negative immune reactions to such sweetness. This also applies to people with high sensitivity to certain products. Our grandmothers and mothers also knew recipes for sweets made from baby food. Let's look at the most delicious options for making candy from baby formula.
Recipe one: “Baby formula and ice cream”
You will need the following ingredients:
- 2 ice creams;
- baby formula (the amount necessary to obtain a thick, dense mass).
Ice cream should be defrosted, that is, allowed to thaw until creamy. Stirring constantly, add baby food. When the mixture reaches the appropriate consistency, shape it into balls and roll in the remaining baby formula. To suit your taste, you can roll a kind of filling into the center of such balls: pieces of nuts, chocolate, dried fruits, and roll them in coconut flakes, cocoa or a mixture of both.
Recipe two: “Gourmand”
You will need the following ingredients:
- 140-150 grams of butter;
- Baby formula for baby food;
- 4 spoons of cocoa powder;
- half a glass of milk;
- a glass of sugar.
Set aside the baby formula for a while. Mix the remaining products and boil for 5 minutes. In this case, you should not leave the ingredients unattended, but stir them constantly. Cool the mass obtained during this cooking process and, adding baby formula, knead. Form candies in the form of hearts, bars, balls. It is recommended to roll the finished products in crushed waffles.
Recipe three: “Candy from Malyutka”
You will need the following ingredients:
- 1 package of baby formula “Malyutka”;
- 1 pack of ice cream (preferably 200 grams);
- half a pack of cocoa;
- 150 grams of butter;
- a pinch of salt.
Mix the softened ingredients together with the baby formula (you can use a mixer or food processor). Form into balls, place on a surface sprinkled with the same baby formula, and place in the refrigerator to harden. Sprinkle the finished balls with cocoa.
A small amount of salt added to the original ingredients will awaken the taste buds and allow the delicate taste of creamy sweets to be conveyed.
Recipe four: “Truffles from baby formula”
You will need the following ingredients:
- baby milk formula “Malyutka” - 4 cups. It is necessary to take into account an additional 0.5 cup for subsequent rolling of candies;
- sugar or powdered sugar - 2.5 cups;
- cocoa – 3-4 tablespoons;
- 50 grams of butter;
- ¾ glass of milk;
- coconut shavings - for decoration.
Mix all ingredients (except milk mixture) in a suitable container and heat over moderate heat. Stirring constantly, cook until the sugar dissolves. Cool the resulting creamy-sugar mixture and, stirring constantly, carefully add baby food until the mass becomes viscosity and thickness. Next, wet your hands with water and form balls. Shape them into truffles by dusting them with the remaining dry baby formula.
Recipe five “Ksyusha Candies”
You will need the following ingredients:
- “Baby” packaging;
- 1 can of boiled condensed milk;
- 0.5 cups of cognac. If desired, you can take your favorite liqueur or other similar drink;
- 2 cups nuts, roasted to taste.
Mix all the ingredients listed above, trying to achieve such a viscosity of the mass that it can be easily sculpted. Form balls or fancy shapes from the resulting mixture, sprinkle with grated chocolate and place in the refrigerator.
Tasty and beautiful
Decorating finished sweets is worth talking about separately. Here there is free flight for the culinary imagination. In addition to the methods already described (roll in cocoa, coconut crumbs or the same baby formula), various options are offered:
- Pour the finished, cooled candies with chocolate or sugar icing. If desired, while their surface is wet, sprinkle nuts, waffle crumbs on top (the taste will be especially original if you use sour waffles) or chocolate chips;
- Based on the special occasion for which such a delicacy is prepared, you can stylize the candies for a specific holiday. For example, decorate with sugar sprinkles in the appropriate color scheme and put in gift wrapping;
- The top of the truffle can be decorated with a cherry, a piece of nut or a miniature candied flower.
Thus, if you have several packages of baby formula lying around that you do not plan to use for its intended purpose, you can not only add it to dough, cereals or omelettes, but also make delicious homemade sweets.

Since the Internet became accessible only in 1991, they looked for information in books, magazines, and if they did not find it, then they asked friends and shared various news, for example, recipes. The method of preparing sweets from a mixture of baby food and ice cream dates back to the 80s of the last century. Almost every housewife willingly tries to cook new interesting dishes to please loved ones. So it was this children's recipe of baby candies and ice cream that was one of the hits in those days.
Today, every store has a wide variety of sweets. But it’s not easy to answer how healthy they are, since most of them contain flavors, dyes and unnatural ingredients. But the real connoisseurs of candy are children. Every mother wants to surprise and pamper her child, to give only the best and natural products, so as not to risk buying candy with unknown ingredients.
An excellent option to prepare sweet treats at home is sweets from the “Malyutka” milk formula, according to a recipe that was used by many mothers almost forty years ago. By the way, this is an interesting and enjoyable time with your child, which he will remember and will 100% like.
Many mothers have formula milk in their kitchen, and even if they don’t, it’s an inexpensive treat that can easily be afforded, while the supermarket shelves sell far-expensive sweets.
Ice cream and baby food candies are very easy to make.
Option with ice cream
It should be noted that using this recipe you can quickly and easily prepare not only a tasty, but also a healthy delicacy. These candies from “Malyutka” can be given to children without fear. To make such a delicacy, you need to inspect the contents of your refrigerator in advance to ensure that all the necessary ingredients are available. In this case, you should have at your disposal:
- A pack of milk formula.
- Two hundred grams of ice cream.
- A stick of butter.
White chocolate and cocoa will be used as additional components. If desired, the last ingredient can be replaced with coconut flakes.
How to prepare truffles from Malyutka?
To prepare milk truffles you will need:
- one package of “Malyutka” milk formula (500 g),
- a pack of butter (180 g),
- cocoa powder for sprinkling - 7-8 teaspoons,
- ice cream ice cream – 200 gr.
These are the main products. The volume of ingredients can be increased, observing the proportions, depending on the desired amount of candy. Ice cream can be not only ice cream, but also fruit, chocolate or creme brulee, with different fillings, but fruit ice is absolutely not suitable.
Before preparing a dish, be sure to ensure the freshness of the ingredients. Additional ingredients are white chocolate and cocoa. As an alternative, you can use milk chocolate and coconut flakes. You can also prepare such treats with nuts, raisins or dried fruits by placing them inside the sweets. Variations of sweets may be different, so you should proceed from your own preferences or the preferences of your child. How to decorate goodies in an interesting and beautiful way will be described below.
The technology for making candy is quite simple and does not require special skills.
So let's get started.
- You need to take the ice cream out of the refrigerator and let it thaw a little. To avoid waiting, it is recommended to mash with a fork.
- Add baby formula “Malyutka” little by little to the softened ice cream until the mass becomes viscous and thick.
- Next, add butter and knead until smooth.
- The resulting milk mass can be molded freely, so next you need to form small balls of similar size, or put them in molds to form figures.
- All that remains is to roll the resulting future sweets in cocoa or coconut shavings and put them in the freezer for at least 40 minutes. After the recommended time has passed, the sweets can be taken out and served.
There is a way to prepare these delicacies without butter, it is classic, the technology remains the same.
There are many variations on how to decorate finished candies so that they look even tastier and more attractive, and here the imagination is free to fly.
In addition to the options suggested above (rolling the balls in coconut, cocoa or baby formula), there are a lot of ways to decorate differently. For example, before serving, pour the finished candies with hot chocolate (milk, white, black), icing sugar or caramel. While the surface of the sweets is wet, we suggest sprinkling with grated nuts - walnuts, hazelnuts or almonds.
Waffle crumbs or the same finely crushed caramel, chocolate chips are suitable as toppings; it will be interesting to mix everything. You can decorate each candy on top with a cherry, raspberry or a piece of nut.
For lovers of filled candies, when forming balls, you should add a nut or raisin inside. It would also be fun to make candies completely different, so to speak, assorted ones - a few with cocoa - classic ones, a few with coconut flakes and nuts inside, a couple more with raisins and white chocolate on top, or, for example, put a piece of milk chocolate inside and roll it on top in crushed nuts. It is certainly possible to please everyone, especially your beloved child.

Then the most interesting part: Using a knife, scrape off the filling from 600 g of vanilla or cream wafers and add to the resulting mass. Add 500 g of infant formula (“Baby”, “Malyutka”) or milk powder. Mix. The resulting mass will become the basis for sweets. Prepare glaze and sprinkles. Glaze: 0.5 cups milk, 1 cup sugar, 4 tablespoons cocoa. Boil over low heat for several minutes. Topping: Grind the remaining waffles without topping. Candies "Planet - 3"
0.5 tbsp granulated cocoa sugar - better than a gold label. Those. not Nestle, but regular powder without the addition of milk powder and sugar. a glass of milk. 200 grams of drained butter Waffles - 300 grams is probably enough, take wide ones if you can find them. Narrow ones are also suitable, but they are more boring, you will understand why during the cooking process. (or maybe you can use waffle cakes, not corrugated ones) by the way, you can make the topping from the same cookies, but crushed. Cookies - you can use anniversary cookies, the most ordinary ones, without additives or glaze. Not chocolate. In the amount of 12-15 cookies. a pack of “Malyutka” mixture (without rice flour and other additives)
Process: mix 0.5 cups of granulated sugar with 3 tablespoons of cocoa, add a glass of milk. Cook, stirring, over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, add 200 grams of drained butter, cook for another 5 minutes. Turn off the gas and refrigerate. Add a pack of mixture and cookies, previously broken into small pieces, to the cooled mass. Even better for very small ones, but not crumbs. Roll the resulting mass into balls (the size is at your discretion), but smaller ones are better - they will “freeze” faster. The most boring thing is the waffles. You can start the cooking process with them. But not important. You need to scrape off the soft “layer” from them, I don’t know how to put it more correctly, I hope you’ll understand. This means we scrape off the layer, eat it (this is of course not for everyone) or throw it away and crush the waffles. In crumbs. Roll the balls into the resulting crushed waffles. Next, put the balls in the freezer, and, if possible, it is advisable to forget about them for a day.

Pour baby formula into the filling and stir. Add soft butter and mix well. Prepare the glaze. Pour some of the glaze into the mixture and mix well. Grind the waffles in a meat grinder. Now we make balls, dip them in glaze and roll them in ground waffles. Place the candies on a plate and put them in the refrigerator.

This already old recipe “dropped anchor” in our family’s cookbook in the 80s of the last century. In those days there was no Internet and interesting recipes were exchanged between women, as a rule, in work groups, during feasts, with friends and relatives. I remember how a satisfied mother came home from work and brought a recipe for making sweets from the “Malyutka” mixture. I will also tell you how to cook. The composition of the candies is very simple. You will need only 5 ingredients - “Malyutka” infant formula, “Plombir” ice cream, butter, cocoa powder and walnut kernels. Sweets from the “Malyutka” mixture are incredibly easy to prepare; all you have to do is mix all the above ingredients. But, since the dessert is not heat-treated, choose fresh and good quality products for it, especially butter and ice cream.
- milk mixture "Malyutka" - 300 gr., - ice cream "Plombir" - 150-160 gr., - butter with a fat content of at least 80% - 30 gr., - walnut kernels - 50 gr., - cocoa powder - for rolling candies.
Recipe with photos step by step:
Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance to soften it. Place the walnut kernels in a blender bowl and grind into crumbs.
Add the Malyutka mixture to the nuts.
Add butter.
Finally, add Ice Cream ice cream to the bowl. For 2 minutes at maximum speed, mix the contents of the blender into a homogeneous mass.
However, you can make the candy base in a different way. Grind only the nut kernels in a blender. Then transfer the nut crumbs to a bowl and add the milk mixture, ice cream and softened butter. Mix all products into a homogeneous mass. Roll the resulting mass into balls the size of a large walnut and roll them in cocoa powder.
Candies from the “Malyutka” mixture, the old recipe for which was proposed above, are ready. Place them on a large platter or in a store-bought candy box and refrigerate for a couple of hours. Serve sweets on the festive table and treat your dear guests and your household. These also turn out to be very tasty and healthy.
Note to the owner:
You can replace walnuts with peanuts, hazelnuts or, for example, almonds. You can make assorted candies from the Malyutka mixture if you roll a third of the balls in cocoa powder, the second third in wafer crumbs, and the rest in finely chopped nuts. And by replacing the classic ice cream with a chocolate one, you will get chocolate truffles from the “Malyutka” mixture.
What children don't like candy? Such children do not exist in nature, and it must be said that most adults are fans of sweets. Today, store shelves offer a great variety of sweet treats for every taste and budget, but not everyone knows that you can please yourself and your loved ones without even leaving home by making your own sweets from baby formula.
If your child has grown up, but the mixture you bought for future use remains, you don’t need to worry about the money spent, you can use it and make it the main ingredient when making candy. This option can be just a salvation for mothers whose baby suffers from food allergies.
Some children cannot be given store-bought sweets because of an allergic reaction, but self-prepared sweets without any chemical additives - preservatives, flavor enhancers, flavorings, etc., are free from these shortcomings.
