Wings in honey-soy sauce in the oven

Baked or fried wings in honey and soy sauce are a great idea for a friendly party, a quiet family dinner, an appetizer for beer, and they would also be appropriate on a holiday table. No one will refuse to crunch deliciously with such a snack. Each housewife has her own signature recipe for preparing delicious honey wings: in a frying pan, in the oven, on the grill, in a slow cooker.

In addition to soy sauce and traditional honey, various spices are added to the sauce. Paprika, hot chili pepper, turmeric, coriander, and curry are best suited. Mustard gives an interesting flavor combination; I have seen variants with pomegranate and orange juice. But in any case, the end result will cause everyone's admiration. I warn you, prepare a lot at once, because everyone will ask for extras.

Chicken wings in honey-soy sauce - recipe (step by step)

Here is the classic and easiest option for baking wings in the oven. It won’t take much time, since all the hassle is reduced to a little preparation of the meat and mixing the sauce.

Take:

  • Wings – 1 kg.
  • Honey – 3 large spoons.
  • Soy sauce – 6 large spoons.
  • Paprika - a small spoon.
  • Hot chili pepper - optional.

Step by step recipe:

First prepare the wings. Remove the ends, which tend to burn (although many people love the crunch, so it's up to you). Cut the wing into two pieces at the joint. Make 1-2 cuts on the meat so that the pieces marinate faster.

Rinse the workpieces and dry with paper napkins.

To prepare the marinade, mix soy sauce, paprika in a bowl, pour in liquid honey. Stir well.

Pour the sauce into the container with the prepared wings. Determine the marinating time yourself. Keep in mind that the longer the wings sit, the tastier they are. But you need to keep it for at least an hour. Be sure to place the bowl on the refrigerator shelf, covered with cling film.

Place the pieces in a heat-resistant dish in even rows.

Place on the middle level of the oven, preheated to 180 o C. Turn on the timer for 35-40 minutes, depending on the size of the wings. During the baking process, look into the oven at least once. If you notice that the sauce is starting to burn on the bottom, splash some hot water on it.

If it’s cool and raining at the dacha in the summer, you shouldn’t cancel a meeting with friends, I suggest you cook delicious and aromatic chicken wings in the oven in honey and soy sauce, the recipe for which I’ll now tell you and show you how to cook them in the photo. Appetizing, golden chicken wings are a great excuse for a feast with friends. They will serve as a full-fledged second course or a hearty snack with beer - in any case, with chicken wings you will always be “on top”. A pun, of course, but to the point.

To prepare chicken wings in honey-soy sauce we will need: - chicken wings - 1 kg; - well-salted soy sauce - 4 tbsp; - odorless vegetable oil - 2 tbsp; - salt - 1/3 tsp; - honey - 1 tbsp; — fresh garlic — 2 cloves; - dry garlic (powder) - 1/2 tsp; - ground black pepper - 1/2 tsp; - ginger powder - 1 tsp.

Choose large chicken wings that have more meat on them, and marinate them at least 3-4 hours before cooking so that they have time to soak in the honey-soy sauce. Here are our products. I washed the wings, removed the remaining plumage, peeled the garlic and measured out the required amount of spices and everything needed to prepare honey-soy sauce. I didn’t cut off the small phalanges at the ends of the wings; some people like them to “crunch,” while others will throw them away after the fact. When baking, the tips of the wings can also be tucked inward and then they will definitely not burn.

Let's prepare honey-soy sauce, for which we mix all the ingredients in a bowl - soy sauce, vegetable oil, spices and salt, put the garlic through a crush and also add to the sauce. If the honey is hard, like mine, you can put the mixture in the microwave for a few seconds, it will then be easier to dissolve in the sauce. Add salt to taste, I only needed 1/3 tsp. salt so that the sauce becomes tasty and the chicken wings are salted in it.

Add honey-soy sauce with garlic to the chicken wings, stir so that each piece of chicken is evenly coated with the sauce. We place a plate on the wings and place a weight. Leave the chicken wings to marinate for 3-4 hours at room temperature or in the refrigerator (if you are leaving them in the marinade overnight).

Cover the oven tray with foil and place the marinated chicken wings on top of the foil in one layer. Pour the honey-soy marinade into a small bowl; we will need it later.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, put the chicken wings in it for 30 minutes. After 10 minutes, remove the baking sheet with chicken wings from the oven and generously coat them with the remaining marinade using a silicone brush. After 20 minutes from the start of cooking, we repeat the same procedure. As a result, the chicken wings will acquire an incredibly beautiful color, rich flavor of the crust and its caramelization. The photo shows how I greased the chicken wings 10 minutes after they started baking in the oven.

  • Honey - a big spoon.
  • Soy sauce – 5 spoons.
  • Ketchup – 2 spoons.
  • Mustard, ready - a small spoon.

How to bake:

  1. Cut the wings into pieces at the joints and place them in a bowl.
  2. Mix all other ingredients specified in the recipe in a separate container.
  3. Pour the sauce over the prepared chicken parts and cover with film. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Stir the meat periodically to thoroughly marinate.
  4. Place the preparations on a baking sheet, covering them with baking paper. Bake at 160-180 o C for 40-45 minutes.

Wings in honey-soy sauce in a frying pan

It takes a lot of time to bake. What to do if guests have already rung the doorbell? A good old frying pan will help. And one more recipe for making wings.

We take:

  • Wings – 500 gr.
  • Soy sauce – 2 large spoons.
  • Tomato paste - large spoon.
  • Honey – 2 small spoons.
  • Lemon juice - small spoon.
  • Garlic cloves – 2 pcs.
  • Paprika, curry, turmeric - a pinch each.
  • Sunflower oil.

The wings will turn out even tastier if you sprinkle them with sesame seeds immediately after frying.

How to cook:

  1. Rinse the chicken, cut into pieces (take the shoulder and the second joint).
  2. Place in a bowl, sprinkle with the seasonings indicated in the recipe and add anything you like. Mix with your hands, distributing them throughout the meat.
  3. Fry the wings in a large amount of oil in a well-heated frying pan.
  4. Combine honey, soy product, paste, lemon juice, and crushed garlic in a bowl.
  5. Pour the sauce into the frying pan and wait until it boils. Reduce heat and cover with a lid. Simmer the dish over low heat for 15-20 minutes. I advise you to turn the pieces over at least once so that they brown on all sides.

Option for grilling

According to the recipe below, the wings are moderately spicy and go well with any side dish:

  • wings - 2 kg;
  • soy sauce - 75 g;
  • hot pepper – 1 small;
  • ginger - a piece 5 cm thick;
  • bay leaf - 3 leaves;
  • black pepper - 5 peas;
  • cloves - 2-3 inflorescences;
  • salt;
  • honey - 1 table. l.;
  • spices (paprika, coriander, rosemary, nutmeg, dried garlic) - a couple of pinches of your favorite spices.

Cooking wings on the grill is as follows:

  1. In a separate bowl, mix the prepared spices and herbs, add a slightly broken bay leaf.
  2. Rinse the wings thoroughly, cut them into pieces at the joints, allow excess liquid to drain, and then rub with a mixture of spices.
  3. Grate the ginger onto a fine grater. Wash the pepper, cut lengthwise, remove the seeds, and finely chop the pulp. Combine ginger and pepper with sauce, honey and salt, stir. Pour the sauce over the spiced wings and leave to marinate for at least half an hour.
  4. Prepare coals on the grill. Place the wings on a wire rack and bake. Turn the grid over every couple of minutes - the uniformity of frying of the meat depends on this. If the coals are well heated, cooking will take no more than 15 minutes.

Honey wings in sweet and sour sauce in a slow cooker

Take:

  • Wings – 1 kg.
  • Honey - a small spoon.
  • Sunflower oil – 3 large spoons.
  • Soy sauce – 2 large spoons.
  • Garlic – 3 cloves.
  • Salt – 2/3 of a small spoon.
  • Pepper, hot chili, coriander - a pinch each.

Cooking:

  1. You already know how to prepare wings for cooking from previous recipes.
  2. Rub them with seasonings and garlic puree, passing the cloves through a press.
  3. For the marinade, combine honey with soy sauce and marinate for 1 hour.
  4. After the specified time, pour oil into the multicooker bowl and place the pickled parts. Set the gadget to the “Frying” program by setting the timer for 15 minutes.
  5. Close the lid, cook for 10 minutes. Then open the lid of the multicooker and turn the workpieces over. Fry them for another 5 minutes.
  6. After the signal sounds, do not open the lid. Leave the wings for 10 minutes, then take them out and bring them to the table.
