Fried sausage in batter recipe

How to quickly and deliciously fry sausage in batter in a frying pan

Why this particular cooking option? It’s all very simple: back in our hungry student years, we most often fried sausage this way. Firstly, it takes a minimum of time, and in the end we get a hot snack for any occasion. Secondly, this method is much cheaper than even inexpensive store-bought cutlets, and the result is quite similar. And thirdly, the cheapest sausage will become much tastier if you fry it in batter. I still make this appetizer often, and it sells out faster than deli items.

The first method is basic

The easiest and fastest thing is to dip the sausage in regular batter and fry. To do this you will need the following products:

300 g boiled sausage;

  • 1 egg;
  • 5 tbsp. l. milk;
  • 2 tbsp. l. mayonnaise;
  • 90 g flour;
  • 3 tbsp. l. vegetable oil for frying.
    Cut the sausage into circles (cut them in half if desired) up to 1 cm thick. There is no need to cut thicker, otherwise the sausage will not warm up completely.

Don't cut the sausage too thick

The batter should not be too thin or thick

Place sausage pieces in hot oil

The batter should become crispy and golden brown on both sides.

Sausage in batter can be an independent snack or an addition to a side dish

Note! Sausage in batter can be not only an independent snack. It can be served with a side dish of vegetable salad, cereal, pasta or potatoes in any form.

Multicooker recipe

Sausage in batter is prepared in a slow cooker in almost the same way as in a frying pan. The only difference is that you will have to fry the sausage in small batches, since the diameter of the bowl is usually small. Prepare the dish using the “frying” or “baking” mode.

  • 200 gr. sausages;
  • 1 egg;
  • 5 tablespoons of sour cream;
  • 3 tablespoons water;
  • 100 gr. flour;
  • salt and spices to taste;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

Cut the sausage into pieces about 0.5 cm thick. Prepare the batter. To do this, break an egg into a bowl, beat it with a whisk or fork, add sour cream, stir until smooth. Salt and season with spices to taste. Add flour, stir until lumps disappear completely.

Method three - cheese inside the sausage

Many people like it when the cheese melts not in the form of shavings, but in slices. We offer another option for reuniting sausage and cheese in batter.

  • 200 g boiled sausage;
  • 1 egg;
  • 4 tbsp. l. breadcrumbs;
  • 100 g cheese;
  • 3–4 tbsp. l. vegetable oil.
    Slice the sausage as thinly as possible, about 3 mm. It's good if you have thin slices. Place two bowls nearby: pour breadcrumbs into one, beat the egg in the other until smooth. Cut the cheese into thin slices.

Cheese and sausage can be cut thinner

Sausage in batter, baked in the oven

If you want to reduce the calorie content of the dish, you should not fry the pieces of sausage in oil, you need to bake them in the oven.

  • 200 gr. smoked sausages;
  • 150 ml kefir;
  • 1 quail egg;
  • 50-60 gr. flour;
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder;
  • salt, pepper to taste;
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

We cut thin smoked sausages into pieces 3 cm long. If we use boiled sausage, then it needs to be cut into circles.

Mix kefir with baking powder and stir until bubbles begin to appear on the surface.

Advice! Instead of ready-made baking powder, you can use baking soda. You need to take half as much soda.

Beat the quail egg into the kefir and beat well. Add flour, knead until completely smooth. Season to taste with spices - salt and pepper. If desired, you can add a pinch of turmeric, the batter will acquire a more attractive color.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease it with oil. Thread the sausage pieces one at a time onto a fork or wooden skewer and dip into the batter. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 220 degrees for approximately 20 minutes, the batter should brown well.

Advice! Baked sausages in batter can be sprinkled with finely grated cheese and put the baking sheet back in the oven for a couple of minutes so that the cheese melts.

Step-by-step recipe with photos

I recently cooked battered sausage in a frying pan using my sister-in-law’s recipe. When they brought me my granddaughter for the summer, the very next morning my question about what to cook for her for breakfast was answered - magic sausage. That's how I found out about the existence of this recipe.

This dish is very quick and easy to prepare. The batter turns out to be tender and adheres well to the pieces of sausage when fried.

Here are the products we will need: simple and quite affordable.

Lavash envelopes with sausage and cheese

An even more original snack option is pita bread with sausage and cheese in batter.

  • 4 sheets of thin pita bread (200 gr.);
  • 200 gr. hard cheese;
  • 200 gr. boiled sausage;
  • 1 tablespoon potato starch;
  • 2 eggs;
  • salt, pepper mixture to taste;
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

To prepare the batter, break the eggs into a deep bowl, season them with salt and a mixture of peppers, and beat with a fork or whisk. Then add mayonnaise and stir. Then add the starch and knead very thoroughly until the dough becomes completely homogeneous.

Cut each sheet of lavash into four parts. We cut the cheese and sausage into thin slices according to the number of pieces of lavash, that is, you should get 16 pieces of sausage and the same number of slices of cheese.

Place a slice of sausage and cheese on each piece of lavash and wrap the edges with an envelope.

Dip the prepared envelopes into the prepared batter and fry in a frying pan in heated vegetable oil on both sides. There is no need to fry for a long time, as the bottom side is browned, turn it over and let the other side fry.

Sausage in batter, fried in a frying pan

Cooking sausage in batter in a frying pan is simple and quick; here is one of the recipe options.

  • 300 gr. boiled sausage, “Doctorskaya” type;
  • 1 egg;
  • 5 tablespoons of milk;
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
  • 90-100 gr. flour;
  • 3-4 tablespoons of oil for frying.

We cut the sausage into circles, and if the loaf is large in diameter, then into halves of circles. The thickness of the pieces should be about 5 mm.

To prepare the batter, you need to mix the egg, milk and mayonnaise. Mix the products with a whisk or mixer until smooth. Salt and add spices to taste. Then gradually add flour until you get a dough that is similar to pancake dough (in thickness).

Pour oil into a frying pan and heat it up. Dip the sausage pieces into the batter and immediately place them in the frying pan. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Serve with any sauce.

Method two - cheese batter

Who can disagree that the combination of sausage and cheese is simply perfect? We invite you to check this again and make our appetizer even tastier and more satisfying.

You will need the following products:

  • 200 g boiled sausage;
  • 2 chicken eggs;
  • 2 tbsp. l. sour cream;
  • 1 tbsp. l. flour;
  • 100 g hard cheese;
  • 1 pinch of salt.

Let's start cooking.

    Cut the sausage into circles. It’s great if you have a small-diameter sausage - it will be more convenient to dip it into the batter. But thick sausage, like “Doctorskaya”, is also suitable.

Boiled sausage and even sausages are suitable for frying.

For the batter, mix flour, eggs and sour cream.

Hard cheese is ideal for batter

To make it easier to dip a piece of sausage into the batter, use a spoon or fork

Spread the remaining batter over the sausage pieces

Fry until the batter is golden and crispy on both sides.
