How and what are sausages made from? Description, photo and video

Sausages in puff pastry on a stick

This snack is served on a stick, perfect for those who are expecting a group of friends or children and do not want their guests to get their hands dirty. It is especially good for those to whom these guests will come any minute. Plus, you don't need cutlery or a bunch of napkins. All you need is one large plate and skewers.

Let's start preparing the recipe for sausages in dough.

You will need the following components:

  • sausages - 6 pcs.;
  • puff pastry – 1 pack.

First, take the puff pastry out of the freezer and let it thaw. In the store, it is better to choose the yeast version, then the products will turn out more fluffy.

Pour some flour onto the table and roll out the dough. This is necessary so that the dough bakes faster and more evenly. Cut it into strips 1 - 2 cm wide. Then take the sausages and cut each one in half. We take out the skewers and string the halves on them, but not all the way. We wrap them with dough on top, moving from bottom to top, like in a spiral.

If there is any excess dough left, you can bag it again and put it in the freezer until next time.

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Place the sausages in puff pastry on a baking sheet that has been previously greased with oil. Brush each top with beaten yolk and place in the oven. Bake until the bun is browned. Approximate cooking time is 15 - 20 minutes.

As you can see, making sausages in dough at home is not at all difficult. We serve them with tomato sauce and mustard.

How to cook sausages in their “uniform” - three recipes

Sausages in batter

Sausages “in their uniform” look appetizing and original. The shell can be mashed potatoes, classic batter, or cabbage leaves. Of the three options, you can certainly choose the one that your husband and especially your children will like.

Option one - in cabbage

For 8 sausages you will need the same amount of cabbage leaves, two to three eggs (depending on their size), two processed cheeses, breadcrumbs and vegetable oil - as much as it takes.

The cooking process will look like this.

  1. Separate the cabbage leaves, lightly boil them in salted water, remove, dry, and lightly beat if necessary.
  2. Cut the cheeses into small pieces.
  3. Make slits in the sausages and stuff them with cheese.
  4. Wrap in cabbage leaves.
  5. Dip in egg, roll in breadcrumbs and fry. Bon appetit.

Option two - in mashed potatoes

For 8 sausages you will need about a kilogram of potatoes. It needs to be boiled and passed through a meat grinder. Add two raw chicken eggs, a glass of flour, and 50 g of butter to the potatoes. Mix it all well.

Roll out the potato dough and cut into squares. Wrap a sausage in each. Roll in egg, grated cheese or breadcrumbs, place in a mold and bake in the oven until done.

The third option is in batter

Make a batter from two spoons of mayonnaise, two eggs, 50 ml of water, 50 ml of vegetable oil and flour (you need to add it until you get the consistency of thick sour cream). The sausages can be dipped whole in the batter, or you can pre-cut them into pieces. Fry in oil. Can be served both hot and cold.

Sausages in yeast-free dough in the oven

This recipe is for those housewives who don’t like store-bought dough and don’t want to wait a long time for the yeast to rise. This method is very easy and economical. The sausages taste simply amazing!

Prepare the following components:

  • water – 220 ml;
  • wheat flour – 3 tbsp;
  • refined sunflower oil – 1 tbsp;
  • sausages of your favorite brand – 580 g;
  • salt – 1-3 pinches;
  • eggs – 2 pcs.;
  • sugar - a pinch;
  • sesame – 55 g;
  • cheese – 90 g.

Homemade oven-baked sausages and quick mashed potatoes as a side dish

Place the frozen sausages in a silicone mold (see link above) in an oven preheated to 180° and bake for about 25 minutes.
5 minutes before cooking, remove the silicone lid and let the sausages brown. If the sausages are not frozen, they will take a little less time to cook - 20 minutes. Or you can put the sausages in a frying pan and bake. At the same time, put a pan of water on the fire. While it boils, peel the potatoes. To make it cook faster, cut it into slices. Thus, when cut, it will cook until tender in 5-7 minutes.

Drain the water, add a piece of butter and make a delicious puree. Be sure to add half a glass or more of hot milk, achieving the thickness that your family likes. The puree turns out very tender.

Another recipe that you can cook for dinner using sausages and pasta.

Cooking

First, let's prepare the dough. Pour water into a bowl, add salt and sugar, stir until they dissolve. Now you need to add the butter and then the sifted flour.

Add flour gradually, avoiding lumps, stirring constantly. Knead the dough until smooth. Sprinkle the work surface with flour and take out the yeast-free dough, start kneading it until it becomes smooth.

When the dough is ready, roll it out. The thickness should be approximately 0.6 - 0.8 mm.

Wrap each sausage in the prepared dough and place on a baking sheet covered with oiled parchment paper. In a bowl, beat the yolks thoroughly and brush each one on top.

Now sprinkle one half of the sausages with grated cheese and the other with sesame seeds.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes at 200 degrees.

When the appetizer is ready, serve it with sauce and tea.

Pie with sausages and cheese

As mentioned above, sausages are suitable not only for making soups, salads and casseroles. They are often used to create delicious homemade baked goods. One of the striking examples of such recipes for dishes with sausages will be a lush pie made with kefir dough. To prepare it you will need the following ingredients:

  • 200 g hard cheese;
  • 250 ml kefir;
  • 200 g sausages;
  • two eggs;
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt;
  • 150 g flour;
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder.

You need to start preparing this airy and soft pie by kneading the dough. In a suitable container combine eggs, salted kefir and baking powder. Add twice-sifted flour there and knead until smooth. Grated cheese and chopped sausages are added to the resulting dough. The resulting mass is placed in a heat-resistant form, greased with vegetable or animal fat. Place in a hot oven. Bake the cake at a temperature of 170-180°C for forty minutes.

Preparation

First, let's prepare the dough. To do this, mix water and milk in a saucepan. The main thing is that the temperature of the liquids is room temperature. Now add sugar and salt, stir until completely dissolved. Then add the yeast, stir again and set aside for 20 minutes.

After the yeast has risen, add butter and sifted flour, knead the dough. Don't add too much flour. The dough should stick to your hands a little. Cover with a lid and wait 2 hours for it to rise.

When the dough has risen, take it out of the pan and divide it into several equal parts, rolling each into a ball. If you don't want the dough to stick to your hands, grease your hands and the surface of the table with vegetable oil.

Knead each ball into a flat cake, put a sausage in it and wrap it. The result is a long pie.

Heat a deep frying pan well and pour in a large amount of oil. Place the pies in the heated oil and fry on all sides over medium heat until golden brown.

When the pies are ready, place each on a paper towel to absorb excess fat, and then transfer to a plate. This dish requires sauce or a light salad.

Fried sausages in dough - method 2

In this version of the recipe for sausages in the dough, you do not need to wait for the dough to rise. This recipe is suitable for those who want to please themselves and loved ones with a quick dish. Recipes for sausages in dough do not require any special skills, and a set of products is available:

  • salt and soda - 0.5 tsp each;
  • low-fat kefir - 2 tbsp.;
  • vegetable oil for frying;
  • flour 2 tbsp;
  • 2 packs of sausages.

Let's start with the test. To do this, pour kefir into a saucepan, dissolve salt in it and set aside for a while.

Next, sift the flour and mix with soda. Pour the dry mixture into kefir in small portions, stirring constantly so that there are no lumps, and knead the dough. Then we take it out of the pan and begin to knead it on the work table.

The dough should not stick to your hands and should be homogeneous. Set it aside for 10 minutes and let it rest. Don't forget to cover it with a towel or napkin so that it doesn't dry out.

Then roll out the dough into a layer 2 mm thick and cut it into strips. Wrap a sausage in each one. The width of such stripes should be no more than one centimeter. There is no need to make them very wide, otherwise you won’t get a beautiful “packaging”.

In this case, you need to add very little oil, just to lubricate the bottom. In a frying pan, fry the sausages in the dough on all sides until golden brown. Transfer the finished appetizer to a dish, let cool slightly and can be served.
