Pork is a fairly fatty meat, but dry barley will benefit from this. Vegetables will also not be superfluous.

Ingredients:

  • Pork – 400 g
  • Pearl barley - 1 glass
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Carrots - 1 pc.
  • Tomato paste - 2 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Vegetable oil

Preparation:

Cut the meat into cubes. Fry in vegetable oil. Add onions, carrots, garlic, and then tomato paste. Simmer meat and vegetables for 10 minutes.

8. After thoroughly mixing the contents and placing a bay leaf on top, cover with lids.

9. The prepared pots are placed in an oven preheated to 190 degrees. After 30-35 minutes, when the liquid boils, reduce the temperature to 170 degrees.

How to deliciously cook pearl barley with meat in the oven

  • pearl barley - 150 g;
  • meat (pork) - 350 g;
  • onion - 1 pc.;
  • carrots - 1 pc.;
  • salt - to taste;
  • ground black pepper - 1/3 tsp;
  • paprika - 1/3 tsp;
  • dried garlic - 1/3 tsp;
  • water - 500 ml;
  • vegetable oil - 2-3 tbsp. l.;
  • butter - 2 small pieces.

Cooking time: 2 hours 15 minutes

Note: the time indicated does not include the time for soaking the pearl barley - 3 hours.

1. Wash the pearl barley (150 g) well (until the water becomes clear). Fill with plenty of water for 3 hours. Then wash again with cool water and leave in a colander to drain excess moisture.

2. Fry the cereal in a frying pan without adding oil over medium heat for 10-12 minutes. Be sure to stir from time to time so that the pearl barley does not burn.

3. Wash pork (350 g) with cool water and cut into cubes approximately 1.5 by 1.5 cm.

4. Peel the onions and carrots, wash them and chop them into small cubes, rings or half rings. Turn on the oven and preheat to 200°C.
