How to cook buckwheat porridge in pots in the oven

To prepare delicious buckwheat porridge in a pot, start by processing the cereal. Sort the buckwheat, remove, if any, black and spoiled grains. Rinse the cereal thoroughly under running water. Then pour cold water over the buckwheat for a few minutes and begin processing the vegetables yourself.

Wash the carrots and onions. Peel the vegetables. Grind the carrots using a large mesh grater. Cut the onion into small pieces.

Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater and finely chop the onion. Saute the carrots and onions until soft, stirring them occasionally. Turn on the oven immediately and set the temperature to 210-220 degrees.

Rinse the cereal thoroughly again so that the water is completely clear after rinsing. To drain excess liquid, buckwheat can be transferred to a sieve. Place the washed cereal into pots (the amount of ingredients is given for 2 servings, i.e. you will need 2 pots).

Add fried vegetables to the buckwheat in the pot.

Add salt to the pot to taste. If desired, you can additionally use spices (for example, ground pepper).

Heat a frying pan well with sunflower oil, add the prepared foods and fry for 5-10 minutes. After this, transfer the ingredients into pots with buckwheat porridge and place the pot in the oven to bake. The same cooking method will apply if you use chicken or chicken hearts.

Note to the owner:
  • The easiest companion to buckwheat to prepare is stew. Simply mash it with a fork in a frying pan, heat it up, mix pieces of meat with buckwheat, water and a little salt, and cook in a pot. Buckwheat porridge with stew in a pot will turn out very aromatic and satisfying.
  • You can make cereal more healthy with the help of the liver. You can take pork or beef liver. Clean it from the veins and cut it into cubes. Place half a tablespoon of flour in a small bag and add the liver to it. Pinch the bag with your hand and shake. The liver will be evenly coated with a thin layer of flour. Cut the onion into half rings. Place a spoonful of butter in a frying pan, heat it well and place the liver and onions in it. Fry for no more than 5 minutes, add salt at the end. Next, add the liver to the cereal, stir, add two parts of the water from the cereal and cook in the oven for 25-30 minutes.
  • If you decide to use porcini mushrooms or minced meat, they also need to be processed in a frying pan in advance.
