Pink salmon is one of my favorite fish; it is tasty, healthy, and inexpensive.
Very often I fry it in a grill pan (how? Read the article “Pink salmon fried in a pan”), but today I decided to stew it. If you don’t know what else to cook from fresh frozen pink salmon, then be sure to try this recipe, I really liked the result, perhaps you will like fish stewed in tomato with vegetables. By the way, also try my recipe for lightly salted pink salmon. To prepare stewed fish with vegetables we will need:

  • pink salmon (you can take any other fish);
  • onion;
  • carrot;
  • bell pepper (optional, but it gives a simply magical aroma);
  • tomato paste;
  • sunflower oil.

Do you want to cook a delicious dish for your family, but don’t know how to please everyone? I suggest you try the stewed fish. This is a very healthy product with a high content of polyunsaturated omega-3 and 6 fatty acids. However, it is not always possible to feed it to children. My son eats it every other time. Recently I found a solution for myself - fish in sour cream in a frying pan. The finished dish is very soft, tender, with a creamy taste. The meat is simmered over low heat and practically melts in your mouth. Perfect for both dinner and lunch. To make it more satisfying, cook it immediately with a side dish, for example, potatoes or vegetables. You can fry it in a frying pan, then there will be a delicious crispy crust. If you stew or cook in the oven, the meat will acquire a softer and more delicate structure.

Any fish will do: river or sea. I often find it more convenient to cook from fillet. This way you don’t have to choose the bones before serving to your child, and it’s more enjoyable to eat. I offer you my selection of the most delicious and easy cooking options.

Stewed fish with vegetables in a frying pan or in a saucepan

1. Wash, clean and cut our fish into pieces.

2. Pour oil into a heated frying pan and wait until it warms up.

3. Place the fish pieces in a frying pan and fry a little on both sides.

4. Remove the frying pan from the stove.

5. Pour oil into a clean frying pan again.

6. While the oil is heating up, wash and cut the vegetables (carrots, onions, and I also have bell peppers).

7. Sauté vegetables in oil.

8. Add tomato paste to the vegetables, mix everything, salt, pepper, and add your favorite seasonings. Pour some boiled hot water here. Stir and simmer a little.

9. Transfer our fish to a pan and pour in vegetables and gravy so that the fish is completely covered with gravy. If necessary, add water. Let it boil and reduce the gas.

10. Place the pan with the fish on the stove and simmer over low heat under a closed lid for 20 minutes. Taste for salt, add a little more salt if necessary.

11. Prepare the side dish according to your wishes.

That's it, our stewed fish with gravy and vegetables is ready, serve. The fish turns out very soft and juicy, and the gravy makes the side dish much tastier. Bon appetit!
