What you need to take for a three-liter jar:

  • 2 cups of hawthorn fruit;
  • 2 cups rose hips;
  • Syrup: 330 g granulated sugar and 1 liter of water.
  1. We will sort out the fruits of hawthorn and rose hips, cut off the branches, wash them well, and dry them. Place it in a jar, fill it with cold water, then add salt to the water, measure the volume and calculate the amount of sugar for the syrup.

The compote needs to sit for at least 2 weeks, during which time all the beneficial substances are extracted from the fruit into syrup, and the drink will acquire a pleasant aroma and taste.

It is not advisable to sterilize rosehip compote, otherwise most of the vitamins will be destroyed. Hot pouring will preserve all useful components.
