How to make baked rolls at home

Baked rolls with chicken

Since baked rolls themselves have little to do with authentic Japanese cuisine (in the land of the rising sun, our favorite rolls are not prepared in principle; they were invented in the USA based on Japanese dishes), they can be prepared with any filling, for example, chicken.

For them take:

  • 1 sheet of nori;
  • 100 grams of fried chicken;
  • a quarter of fresh cucumber;
  • a quarter of an avocado;
  • 200 grams of Japanese rice;
  • capelin caviar - a tablespoon;
  • cream cheese 100 grams;
  • 60 grams of hard cheese;
  • green onions;
  • soy sauce;
  • 1.5 tablespoons of rice vinegar;
  • a teaspoon of salt and sugar.

Cooking algorithm:

  1. First, cook the rice. Rice for rolls is cooked not like regular rice, but with the addition of rice vinegar, salt and sugar. And in consistency it should resemble a sticky mass so that the finished rolls do not fall apart. This is why special Japanese rice is needed. It is convenient to prepare it in a slow cooker. Pour the rice into a bowl, fill with water so that it is 2 fingers higher than the cereal and cook for 15 minutes in the “Rice” mode. Next, let it sit on the heat for another 15 minutes, then season with salt, sugar and vinegar.
  2. Place the rice on a sheet of nori in an even layer, leaving a small free strip on top.
  3. Form a strip of cream cheese on one edge and place the cucumber and avocado, cut into strips, on top of it. Distribute the fried chicken slices among the vegetables and add a green onion on top.
  4. Moisten the free edge of the nori with water to form a roll, and then roll the roll. Using your hands, shape it into a uniform round shape and cut the roll into rolls. To make the roll cut better, moisten the knife with water - this way the nori will not tear, and the cut will be smooth and neat.
  5. Place the rolls in a baking tray on non-stick paper, cut side up. Place a little caviar and a cap of finely grated cheese on top of each. Bake the rolls in the oven for 5 minutes at 180 degrees. Serve with soy sauce.

With shrimps and eel

The following recipe is for making 8 rolls.

  • nori – 1 leaf;
  • sushi rice – 1 sheet;
  • cucumber – 1-2 strips;
  • avocado – 3-4 strips;
  • eel – 100 grams;
  • shrimp – 10-15 pieces (depending on size);
  • Buko cheese – 1 tablespoon;
  • flying fish caviar – 1 tablespoon;
  • sesame seed - 1 tablespoon.

How to make these baked goodies?

  1. We start cooking - cook the rice;
  2. Place rice on half of the nori in a thin, even layer;
  3. sprinkle with sesame seeds;
  4. turn over the half-cooked rolls and add the filling: flying fish caviar, avocado, cucumber, eel;
  5. roll them up and divide them into 8 parts;
  6. pour a little sauce on top for each serving (mix cream cheese with shrimp);
  7. Next, place the almost finished dish on a microwave-safe dish and bake for 7-8 minutes;
  8. the cooking process is complete. What to do next? Carefully take out the goodies and start eating.

Tip: Place a bamboo mat under cling film. This will make it easier to turn over and form the dish in the future (see point 4).

Now you know that there is more than one recipe for making baked rolls. And, we hope, you can choose your recipe: traditional or exotic. It's time to take action. We wish you bon appetit!

Nothing on topic

Nowadays, Japanese cuisine has become so popular that more and more modern women want to learn how to cook new dishes on their own. Anyone can master making rolls at home. Everything you need for this can be easily purchased in a store, and you can learn all the intricacies of Japanese dishes from professionals by looking at a master class on the Internet.

We will begin to reveal the secret of making baked rolls. Do you want to know how to make baked rolls at home and get the recipe for them?! If yes, then first it is advisable to understand the technology for making classic rolls. They differ only in that the finished rolls are additionally covered with a layer of special sauce, which after baking forms a golden crust on the rice.

This dish is prepared with a variety of fillings, for example, scallops, salmon, tuna, mussels, shrimp, etc.

What might you need?

Rice, nori seaweed sheets, rice vinegar, salt, sugar; products for filling (salmon, tuna or shrimp; cucumber or avocado; package of Almette curd cheese, etc.); products for baking (mayonnaise, capelin caviar, soy sauce, maybe a little ketchup). As well as a bamboo mat (mat) and cling film.

Delicious recipe! Salad with magnet chuka

1. It all starts with boiling rice. For one glass of cereal you will need a glass and a quarter of water. Before cooking, rice grains should be thoroughly washed in several waters, then poured again and allowed to stand for half an hour.

Squeeze out the soaked rice, pour into a saucepan, pour in the required amount of water and, cover with a lid, bring to a boil.

Cook at maximum heat for only one minute, and then you need to reduce the heat to minimum and cook for 12-15 minutes. It is better not to open the lid. Then the cooked rice should still stand in a closed pan for 10-15 minutes.

2. In the meantime, you can prepare a seasoning for rice: add salt (half a teaspoon) and sugar (1-1.5 teaspoons) to 50 g of rice vinegar. Stir until they are completely dissolved.

3. Place freshly cooked rice, still hot, in a separate bowl and moisten with vinegar dressing. In order for the grains to remain intact, you need to mix them not with the usual circular movements, but by carefully lifting them.

You can move the entire mass to one side of the bowl and then back. Cover with a napkin and proceed to prepare additional filling.

4. Cut the fish into thin strips. If you took small shrimp, then you do not need to cut them. Cucumber or avocado are cut into the same strips (if the cucumber is hard, then the skin is peeled and large seeds are removed).

5. Lay out a bamboo mat. Place a whole sheet of nori seaweed on it. It will be more convenient to wrap rolls at home if you additionally cover this wooden mat with cling film. Then the seaweed sheet will lie on the film (glossy side down).

Wetting your hands with vinegar (you can also use a spoon), spread the rice on its surface to form a thin and even layer. The top and bottom edges of the nori are left uncovered by the filling (about one centimeter).

You can combine the rice with other ingredients (for example, a second layer of Buko or Flmette cream cheese would be a good addition). If you want the dish to be spicier, add another layer of capelin caviar (any other small caviar will do). On the edge of the seaweed, strips (one or two) of avocado or cucumber and the same number of strips of fish are laid out.

6. Use a bamboo mat to roll the roll. This is done like this: holding the edge of the mat with your thumbs and the filling with the rest, they begin to roll it up.

Having connected the top edge of the nori with the bottom, the mat needs to be bent back. In this case, you should make sure that the film does not swirl with the algae. You will get a roll wrapped in film. To make the edges stick together better, you can roll it a little on the mat. You can make several similar rolls this way.

7. Take a sharp knife, soak it in vinegar and cut each roll in half, then into 3-4 pieces. The film will help maintain the shape of the pieces. Now they can be removed from the film strips and placed on a baking sheet.

8. All that remains is to carefully pour over the dressing, consisting of mayonnaise with small fish caviar (add ketchup for spiciness if desired); Another option would be a mixture of caviar with cottage cheese (in equal parts) with the addition of a small amount of soy sauce.

Prepare homemade baked rolls using this recipe - this is a very tasty dish that you can delight your family or guests with.

While many people today have learned to prepare ordinary sushi and rolls at home, not every cook who has gotten the hang of preparing these popular oriental dishes with their own hands has tried to make baked rolls. Baked rolls recipe

100 g lightly salted salmon fillet

50-80 g grated hard cheese

1/2 cup rice for rolls and cucumber

2-3 tbsp. mayonnaise

How to make baked rolls:

Prepare pre-cooked rice for rolls - cool, etc.

Cut the cucumber into long strips about 0.5 cm wide.

Take a sheet of nori, place it on a mat for preparing rolls, distribute half of the rice evenly over the surface, cover with cling film, turn the nori over with the rice facing down.

Place cucumber strips on the side of the nori without rice, which is at the top, roll it up - it will come out with rice on the outside.

From the remaining rice and the second sheet of nori, make a roll with rice inside: put nori, rice on it, cucumber on the rice, roll up the roll.

Cut the rolls into 6-8 pieces, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment so that the cuts are at the top and bottom.

Chop the lightly salted fish very finely, mix with coarsely grated cheese, mayonnaise and sugar, distribute the prepared mixture into rolls, spreading equally on each.

Place the rolls in an oven heated to 180-200 degrees, bake for 10-15 minutes until the “cap” sets – the cheese should melt.

Serve the baked rolls hot.

You should not reheat baked rolls - they will not be as tasty. It's best to eat them right away. For the filling, in addition to cucumber, you can use other products to taste.

Recipe with mussels

Mussels will give the rolls a unique sweetish taste.

To make these rolls you will need:

  • 100 grams of rice;
  • 2 sheets of nori;
  • 150 grams of mussels;
  • 50 grams of Gouda;
  • a teaspoon of rice vinegar;
  • wasabi;
  • soy sauce;
  • salt.

Let's get started:

  1. Cook rice according to instructions, season with salt and vinegar. Roll it into small balls, and at the end give them an oval shape. To prevent rice from sticking to your hands, dilute a little vinegar and water in a bowl and dip your fingers in it.
  2. Place some wasabi on top of the rice balls.
  3. Cut the nori into strips and wrap them around the rice balls. To seal the edge of the tape, moisten it with water and vinegar.
  4. Place raw mussels on top of wasabi.
  5. Grate the cheese, mix with soy sauce and place in a heap on top of the mussels.
  6. Bake the rolls in the oven until the cheese melts. This time is enough for the mussels to bake.

Traditional Japanese mayonnaise

The recipe for this mayonnaise, as we have already said, is quite simple. Its composition is complex. And the traditional Tamago-no-mono mayonnaise includes the following ingredients:

  • Soybean oil – 230 g (partial glass);
  • Eggs – 3 pieces;
  • Rice vinegar – 20 g;
  • Miso paste (white) – 50 g;
  • Japanese yuzu lemon zest;
  • Ground white pepper;
  • Salt.

Separate the yolks from the whites (we won't need the whites) and pour them into a bowl. Using a wooden spatula, thoroughly stir the yolks, rubbing them into a homogeneous liquid mass. Continuing to grind the yolks, pour in the rice vinegar and beat the mixture with a whisk. Now, without ceasing to whisk, pour the soybean oil drop by drop (literally!) into the bowl. As a result, our sauce should thicken and become lighter.

Now add the miso paste to the sauce and stir it again. Next, you need to grate the zest of one lemon or chop the peel and grind it in a blender and put it in mayonnaise along with a pinch of white pepper. Finally, add salt to taste and whisk the sauce thoroughly again. Our mayonnaise is ready!

With salmon

Lightly salted salmon will make the rolls taste very delicate.

To prepare this healthy and delicious snack, take:

  • 200 grams of sushi rice;
  • 100 lightly salted salmon;
  • 1 sheet of nori;
  • 20 ml rice vinegar;
  • 6 teaspoons spicy sauce.

Making baked salmon rolls is not difficult:

  1. Rinse the rice, place in a pan with water in a ratio of 1.5 - 2 parts liquid to 1 part rice. Cook the cereal for 20 minutes, add vinegar. Rice for sushi does not need to be salted; it is better if it is completely bland. And the saltiness will be added by other ingredients and soy sauce.
  2. Cut the fish into thin strips.
  3. Place the rice in an even thin layer on a sheet of nori and place the fish on top.
  4. Roll the roll using a special mat, slightly pulling it towards you so that it turns out dense and uniform.
  5. Cut the roll into rolls, place them on a baking sheet, put a little spicy sauce on top and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.

Serve warm rolls with soy sauce, wasabi and ginger.

How to make spicy sauce for baked rolls

If you are a true gourmet and connoisseur of Japanese cuisine, then, of course, you are familiar with the classic spicy sauce. Most often, residents of the Land of the Rising Sun use it in salads, but sometimes the dressing is served with some types of sushi. This sauce is highly valued due to its wonderful aroma and original taste with a slight spice.

It is also used to make baked rolls. It gives this dish both a golden brown crust and an unforgettable taste. If you decide to make spicy sauce in your own kitchen, you need to purchase the following ingredients: soy sauce, mayonnaise, garlic, chili and flying fish roe. The proportions depend solely on your preferences: for example, if you want the sauce to be more piquant and spicy, then use more chili. You can also add your favorite spices to the recipe.

Today we talked about several options for how to prepare baked rolls, as well as a delicious spicy sauce for them. If you are partial to Japanese cuisine, be sure to try making this dish at home.

What fillings are needed for warm rolls?

Japanese cuisine, which is loved by many for the simplicity and deliciousness of its recipes, is famous for maki sushi. But there is another incredibly tasty dish called “warm rolls”.

They are prepared a little differently than other types, but they are quite easy to make at home if you know what ingredients to use.

For such rolls, the same products are used as for regular maki, but in addition you need to prepare a batter, for which flour and an egg are useful.

As an experiment, you can add the following to the hot roll filling:

  • cold smoked eel;
  • king prawns;
  • mussels;
  • crabs;
  • caviar;
  • sea bass.

As vegetables these can be:

  • fresh green cucumber;
  • green salad;
  • avocado slices;
  • tomatoes.

Also, warm rolls are perfectly complemented by Philadelphia cheese, mayonnaise and Spicy hot sauce.

Tips on how to properly make rolls at home:

  1. You need to choose high-quality rice vinegar, because a cheap fake can ruin the taste of seafood and rice.
  2. Wasabi can be purchased in powder and can be easily prepared at home. It is enough to dissolve it in boiled water and let it brew for 15 minutes.
  3. Soy sauce should only be purchased in glass containers, thus preserving its taste and aroma.
  4. If there are no scales in the kitchen, then you can measure the rice with a faceted glass.
  5. The less filling you put in the roll, the easier it will be to roll it - this advice applies to beginners.

With eel

Another exotic, but very tasty fish is eel, which is so often present in Japanese dishes.

For eel rolls, take:

  • 0.5 kg rice;
  • Buko cheese – 100 grams;
  • hard cheese – 50 grams;
  • 150 grams of eel;
  • 50 grams of Tobiko caviar;
  • 150 grams of salmon;
  • cucumber;
  • nori

Cooking process:

  1. Prepare the rice as in previous recipes and place on nori. Spread cheese on top. If you can't get Buko cheese, get Philadelphia.
  2. Add a strip of Tobiko caviar, and if you couldn’t buy it, replace it with capelin caviar or remove it completely.
  3. Next, place the eel, salmon and cucumber, cut into strips.
  4. Roll it up and cut it.
  5. Place a cap of grated cheese on top and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes.

Prepare baked rolls with any other ingredients, experiment with types of fish, cheese, add different caviar, other vegetables and aromatic herbs. And most importantly, always serve them warm and freshly prepared, as baked rolls will not tolerate reheating.
