Pilaf with chicken in the Polaris multicooker: step-by-step cooking recipe with photos

I really like to cook pilaf with chicken using a slow cooker, since I don’t have any special utensils for pilaf, in a regular one it either burned or turned out like nothing, but not quite as intended, a little like porridge, homemade ate, of course, but not willingly, apparently so as not to offend me...

When I once had the honor of cooking pilaf in a slow cooker with chicken, I was very pleased with the result. The pilaf turned out to be of excellent taste, just what I needed - rice grain grain by grain, nothing even close to porridge. Since then I’ve only cooked pilaf with chicken this way and in general, I try to trust the slow cooker with everything related to rice.

It’s convenient that the preparation and stewing of the dish takes place in one vessel - the bowl of a multicooker, the time savings is noticeable; you’ve prepared everything, thrown it into the multicooker and you’re free. I prefer to use steamed rice for pilaf, for the reason that it does not boil over like regular rice. I have tomato sauce in my recipe, I like to use it, tomato gives the pilaf a unique taste, but usually it is not included in the pilaf, so, of course, it is not necessary to add it.

This recipe in a slow cooker has no pretensions to true Uzbek pilaf, it is rather an adapted and simplified Russian version, but it turns out very tasty, and is prepared simply and quickly, so I recommend trying to cook pilaf in a slow cooker with chicken.

Wash the rice, chop and fry the vegetables:

1. Wash the rice for pilaf and soak in cold water. Turn on the multicooker in frying and stewing mode, set the time for 1 hour, pour in 1-2 cm of vegetable oil and leave to warm up with the lid open. I don’t close the multicooker lid until I add the rice. We peel all the vegetables, grate or cut the carrots into strips, throw them into hot oil, fry, meanwhile finely chop the onion, send it after the carrots, fry everything together.

Chop and add meat:

2. Cut the meat into medium-sized pieces, you can chop the chicken with bones into pieces, add to the vegetables in the slow cooker, add salt and pepper, and fry. Add tomato sauce, stir, fry for 10 minutes.

Add rice and prepare pilaf:

3. Place rice in the vegetable frying with meat, after draining the water, add salt, pepper if necessary, add water about 2 cm above the rice, close the lid of the multicooker. In the frying - stewing mode, pilaf with chicken should be cooked for 20 minutes; if necessary, adjust the time set in the multicooker.

You can forget about the multicooker for 15 minutes and get busy with other things. After 15 minutes, you need to check the readiness of the dish, carefully, so as not to get burned by the steam, open the lid of the multicooker and check the condition of the rice, taste it for readiness.

If the rice is still hard and there is no water left, carefully push the food apart in the multicooker, freeing the middle and pour in a little water, about half a glass, stick the garlic into the rice, straight into whole cloves, close the multicooker lid and cook further, about 5-10 minutes. When the rice is ready, mix the pilaf, taste for salt, add if necessary, remove the garlic, leave to brew for 20-30 minutes, switching the multicooker to standby mode - heating.

Serve the finished dish:

4. The pilaf with chicken has steeped and is completely ready - all that remains is to put it on plates and take a sample.

Preparing mushrooms and vegetables

First rinse the champignons under the tap to remove any dirt. Dry and carefully remove the skin from the caps and cut out the dark plates located under them. Cut off the tip of the stem and chop the champignons into slices. Next, cut off the skins from the onions, rinse the onions under the tap and chop them into half rings. Peel the carrots, wash them thoroughly and finely chop them into strips. Check the rice and rinse until the water is completely clear.

Next, to prepare pilaf in the Polaris multicooker from chicken and champignons, you need to turn on the device in the “Baking” mode, pour oil into the bowl and place onion half rings in it. Fry until golden caramel. Then add the champignons chopped into slices and simmer without changing the mode until all the juice from the champignons has evaporated. Next, place the carrots cut into strips into the multicooker and simmer for another ten minutes.

After all the vegetables and champignons are stewed, add chicken pieces to them. Sprinkle with salt and mix well. Fry with the meat for another ten minutes. After the specified time has passed, mix the vegetables, champignons and meat and spread the prepared rice on top in an even layer. Sprinkle a tablespoon of Trapeza or Vkusnoteka pilaf seasoning and bay leaves on top of the rice. There is no need to mix the ingredients. Then pour boiling water into the bowl. The water should cover the rice by about one and a half centimeters.

Close the lid and cook pilaf according to the recipe in the Polaris multicooker with chicken and champignons in the “Pilaf” mode for thirty minutes. When there are five minutes left before the end of cooking, you need to open the lid and carefully mix all the ingredients of the pilaf. Then you can leave it in the slow cooker for another thirty minutes on heating, so the rice will be even softer. The finished juicy, crumbly, aromatic and, most importantly, satisfying pilaf with chicken and champignons is served hot with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. You can also serve sour cream on the table in a gravy boat.

Preparing Ingredients

With the advent of a wide variety of kitchen appliances, cooking has become much easier for a large number of modern housewives. In addition to the stove, the dish can be prepared in a double boiler, microwave and, of course, a slow cooker, which is also called a miracle saucepan. Since almost any dish can be cooked deliciously and quickly, we suggest preparing pilaf with chicken in the Polaris multicooker.

To prepare delicious crumbly and aromatic pilaf, you need to spend a little time and prepare some of its components. And we will cook using a step-by-step recipe for pilaf with chicken in the Polaris multicooker. For pilaf, it is advisable to use long-grain rice, as it does not stick together when cooked. It must first be reviewed and all small debris removed. Then the rice needs to be washed thoroughly until the water becomes clear.

Wash the chicken fillet and cut into pieces. Peel the onions and cut into half rings. Peel the carrots with a vegetable peeler, wash them and then cut into strips.

Tricks of a good housewife

Even having chosen the “right” products, you need to follow the laws of preparing pilaf, otherwise both meat and rice will be irrevocably spoiled.

  • The order in which the ingredients are loaded is very important. The first layer - to the very bottom - is meat, cut into pieces. Then - carrots and onions (cut into rings), spices, and rice at the very top.
  • The products in the pilaf are not mixed during cooking. As they were originally loaded, they should remain until completion.
  • Garlic for pilaf does not need to be peeled and disassembled into slices: the whole head, washed and dried, is immersed in rice in the center of the container. After the dish is ready, take out the garlic. It retains the aroma for a long time.
  • If the multicooker does not have a special mode for pilaf, you can use the “Multicook”, “Stewing”, “Rice and Spaghetti” and others functions, depending on the model.

Following the rules is the key to how to cook crumbly pilaf in a slow cooker that will be the envy of everyone. There's nothing complicated about it.
