Potato nests with minced meat in the oven: recipe with photos
I cook potato nests with minced meat in the oven for almost all family holidays, the dish turns out very tasty and looks simply amazing.
I offer the recipe with photos to you too. I recommend including mashed potato nests in your New Year's menu. They are easy to prepare, but require a lot of time. Although, if you make the puree in advance, the rest of the cooking will go quickly. The nests can be served on a common platter or in portions.
Peel the onion and chop with a knife. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, heat it and fry the onion in it until golden brown, usually this takes 3-5 minutes. Don't forget to stir from time to time to avoid burning.
Add the minced meat to the onion, mash it with a spatula or fork. Continue frying the onion and minced meat for another 8-20 minutes until the meat is completely cooked. You can cover the frying pan with a lid, then the process will go faster. Instead of minced chicken, you can use pork or beef. Add your favorite spices, pepper and salt to taste to the almost finished minced meat. Remove the pan from the stove and allow the filling to cool.
On a note!
Ground paprika, coriander, and dried garlic go well with minced chicken spices.
Peel the potatoes and rinse. Cut into small pieces. Fill the pan with water and heat. When the water boils, transfer the potatoes to the pan and cook for 15-20 minutes until they begin to soften.
Drain the water from the pan into the sink. Add butter and spices.
Mash the potatoes well with a potato masher.
To make it easier to cook from potato mass, add a raw egg to it. Mix the egg into the potatoes quickly to avoid lumps.
Add flour. Add it little by little, otherwise lumps will form.
After adding flour, stir the puree again. Then set the saucepan with the mixture aside for 5-10 minutes.
Grease a baking dish with oil. If you have breadcrumbs, you can sprinkle the bottom of the pan with them. Make nests from the puree. They can be squeezed out of a pastry bag. Or spoon it out, making a hole for the minced meat. I used a small ring salad pan. So, spread the puree in any way you like. Place a portion of minced meat into the hole. Don't make the nests too big, otherwise they may fall apart.
On a note!)
After the minced chicken, add a thin layer of sour cream or homemade mayonnaise; they will add additional juiciness to the nests.
The nests are almost ready. Grind the cheese on a grater and sprinkle on top. Use a soft variety so that it melts well.
Set the oven to 180-200 degrees depending on the power. Cook for 15-20 minutes. The degree of readiness is easy to determine when the cheese begins to melt and acquires a golden crust. Turn off the heat, take out the mold and place the nests on a large flat plate.
For beauty, sprinkle the dish with herbs or decorate with fresh vegetables. There is no need for a side dish for potato nests. The dish turns out to be very satisfying. By the way, I advise you to also prepare potato zrazy with minced meat, they also turn out very tasty.
This time I had both puree and minced meat left, so I decided to make something like a casserole. Place a layer of potatoes in a disposable foil pan.
Then a layer of minced meat.
A layer of grated cheese.
Another layer of mashed potatoes.
I coated it with mayonnaise and put it in the oven.
You can cook too. But everything turns out to be very high in calories. Bon appetit!

Potato nests with minced meat and mushrooms are an original presentation of familiar products for a family dinner or friendly gatherings. Typically, such recipes are deprived of attention - preference is given to simpler, quicker, quick options. But sometimes it’s worth including this dish in your arsenal - surprise and gratitude in the form of empty plates are guaranteed! Moreover, the preparation time will not take much more than for a banal puree with meat. We make the base potato baskets relatively small, so the finished nests are stable and do not spread even without adding flour. In improvised baskets we put a simple but hearty and tasty filling, time-tested - assorted minced meat soaked in tomato sauce, fried champignons and your favorite type of cheese. Sprinkle with additional herbs and serve hot on a shared tray or in portions.
Ingredients:
For the base:
- potatoes - 500 g;
- cheese - 50 g;
- butter - 40 g;
- yolk - 1 pc.;
- salt - to taste.
For filling:
- minced meat - 200 g;
- frozen champignons (or fresh) - 200 g;
- onion - 1 pc.;

Potato nests with minced meat and mushrooms recipe
- Wash the potatoes and cut off a thin layer of peel. Cut the peeled tubers into halves or quarters, fill with cold water and boil until tender (check for softness by piercing the potatoes with a knife).
- In parallel with cooking the potato tubers, prepare the filling. Finely chop the peeled onion. Stirring, fry in vegetable oil until lightly browned.
- Add champignon plates to the fried onions. Keep everything together on the fire until the moisture completely evaporates.
- Separately, fry the minced meat - place the meat mixture in a frying pan heated with oil. Stir all the time, breaking up large lumps with a spatula. We wait until the minced meat completely changes its red color to gray-beige.
- Peel the tomato. To do this, make a cross cut on the peel, pour boiling water over the vegetable, leave for a couple of minutes and rinse with cold water. Remove the soft, steamed skin. Cut the pulp as finely as possible and add it to the minced meat. Add tomato paste.
- Stir the contents of the pan and keep it on the fire until the excess moisture evaporates. Add the mixture of champignons and onions, salt/pepper the filling ingredients.
- Place the boiled potatoes in a colander and drain all the water. Return the tubers to the pan and use a masher to thoroughly mash them into a puree. We try not to leave large lumps. Salt.
- Cool the puree, then add finely grated cheese (50 g), egg yolk and soft butter.
- Stir the potato mixture thoroughly.
- Cover the baking sheet with parchment paper (if you are not sure of its quality, you can additionally grease it with a thin layer of oil). We lay out portions of potatoes, from each we manually form nests with a diameter of about 7 cm. We make a solid bottom and low sides. Using a teaspoon, trim the shape.
- Fill the potato nests with the filling. Spread the meat mass fairly tightly, tamping it down.
- Sprinkle the meat layer with finely grated cheese on top. We send the workpieces to a room heated to 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes. The cheese shavings should melt and lightly brown.
- After cooling slightly, serve the prepared potato nests with minced meat and mushrooms. Supplement with herbs and fresh vegetables.
Bon appetit!

How to cook minced meat nests in the oven:
Prepare the cutlet base. Wash the meat thoroughly, cut it into smaller pieces, and grind it together with the garlic and 2/3 of a large onion in a meat grinder.
Let's add spices to the minced meat, a heaping tablespoon of mayonnaise, one egg, and chopped potatoes with a grater and squeezed out of excess moisture and starch. Knead the meat mixture thoroughly. The cutlet base is ready.
Let's prepare the filling.
No. 1. Grind the carrots on a medium-mesh grater, remove the moisture from the thawed sweet peppers using a sieve, and chop the remaining third of the onion into your favorite size. Saute all vegetables for about 3 minutes, adding a little oil.
No. 2. Finely grate the cheese and mix with a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise, raw egg and dill.
No. 3. For the third filling, you only need 2 whole eggs.
We form “nests”. Divide all the minced meat into 6 parts and make a round cutlet from each. Place on greased foil spread on a baking sheet. Using your hands or using the bottom of a glass, shape the cutlets into a cheesecake (nest).
Fill the resulting depressions with the filling: place lightly fried vegetables in two cutlets, and place thin slices of tomato on top; two - egg-cheese mixture with dill; In the remaining two, carefully break an egg and season with spices.
Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top and place in the oven, already preheated to 200°C.
We will bake the meat cheesecakes for 35 minutes, serve them hot with some side dish (or without it) of cereals or vegetables.
Bon appetit!!!
Best regards, Kalinina Irina.

Cooking potato nests with filling
This option for a hot appetizer, so original and at the same time simple, will not leave anyone, we assume, a gourmet without attention. To prepare it you will need fresh mashed potatoes, improved with raw egg, grated cheese and low-fat cream; fresh mushrooms fried with onions and boiled chicken, which must be cooked until tender beforehand and cooled in the refrigerator so that it can be easily cut into cubes without falling apart into fibers. The remaining products are prepared directly in the general process.
We found this very beautiful and tasty recipe for a hot appetizer on the culinary channel “yuliya small”, and we liked it so much that in the near future, having bought mushrooms, and the rest was found in our home “bins”, with the most lively interest we cooked it up and made a decision : Be sure to share it. It’s easy to cook in parallel with Yulia Small - everything is clear and step-by-step visual, for which our warm and delicious thanks to her! If you like this culinary idea, then let’s move on to the ingredients of the dish itself.
Ingredients for making potato nests with filling:
- fresh potatoes - 5-6 pieces;
- boiled chicken - 150 grams;
- hard cheese - 150 grams;
- fresh mushrooms - 200 grams;
- fresh chicken egg - 1 piece;
- low-fat cream;
- table salt - to taste;
- ground black pepper - to taste.
Let's start preparing “Potato Nests”, starting with peeling the potatoes, cutting them into small pieces so that they can be cooked faster for mashing. Pour water level with the potatoes, and add salt when boiling. While the potatoes are boiling, cut the cooled boiled chicken into cubes, chop the hard cheese on a fine grater, and you can also fry the mushrooms in advance with onions and adding a small amount of garlic.
In a separate container, mix all the crushed ingredients for the filling: diced chicken breast, fried mushrooms, a little more than half of the grated cheese, a little table salt, ground black pepper to taste and other spices you prefer in moderation. Pour a little heavy cream or sour cream here so that the filling turns out plastic and does not crumble. Mix everything until smooth.
Let's return to the potatoes, which by this time are completely cooked. Drain the water from it, sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese, pour in just a little cream, a raw egg and puree everything into a homogeneous mass using a blender or potato masher; You can add a little butter or sour cream if you prefer, taking care that it does not come out too liquid and can hold its shape. Place the finished puree in a pastry bag or, if there is none, in a plastic bag with a corner cut off. Pour the puree into a mold lined with baking paper in the shape of a nest with a bottom, a side and a depression in the center. Once the nests are formed, place two tablespoons of filling into each nest. With half the filling and the remaining potatoes, you can make something similar to mini shepherd's pies in small ceramic baking containers, putting the filling on the bottom, and mashed potatoes on top, which can be smoothed into a noticeable pattern so that they bake beautifully.
Place both the mini pies and the nests in the oven, already preheated to + 180 C, and bake them until golden brown, so that you get a very appetizing golden-brown embossed potato crust on top. Allow the finished nests to cool slightly, then transfer to a serving dish and serve warm. We hope that you will prepare such an original, tasty and satisfying dish, quite worthy of being at the festive table or just when you want to pamper your household with something new and tasty. Bon appetit and good health.

Today we invite you to prepare an original dish - potato nests with minced meat in the oven. Using our recipe with photos step by step, you can easily feed your family an unusual and tasty dinner. To fill potato nests, you can use any minced meat, for example, homemade minced pork and beef, but they work best with chicken. To make the dish more satisfying and tasty, be sure to sprinkle hard cheese on top of the nest.
Ingredients: - eggs - 1 pc.; - minced chicken - 100 - 150 g; - potatoes - 3 - 4 pcs; - flour - 2 - 3 tbsp. l.; - salt - to taste; - ground black or allspice - to taste; - smoked ground paprika - to taste; - vegetable oil - 2 - 3 tbsp. l.; — onions — 1 pc.; - hard cheese or suluguni cheese - 30 - 50 g; - mayonnaise - 1 tbsp. l.
First, prepare the filling for the potato nests: peel the onions, rinse them under water and cut them into small pieces. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, add chopped onion and fry it over medium heat for 3 - 4 minutes.
Then add the minced chicken, mix thoroughly and fry over medium heat, remembering to stir, for approximately 7 - 10 minutes.
Salt the minced chicken and onion to taste, add ground black or allspice, smoked ground paprika (instead of these seasonings, you can use your favorite spices, for example, a mixture of ground peppers, dried basil), stir and fry for another 1 - 2 minutes. Then transfer the finished filling from the frying pan into a bowl and let it cool. Tip: To make the filling for potato nests with minced meat more aromatic and tastier, you can add a few finely chopped cloves of garlic to it when frying.
Peel the potatoes, wash them, put them in a saucepan, cover them with cold water and let them cook (when the potatoes boil, salt them to taste). Mash the finished potatoes using a potato masher (note that the consistency of the mashed potatoes should not be runny, otherwise it will be difficult to form potato nests from it).
Cool the mashed potatoes, pepper them to taste and add an egg (if desired, you can also add finely chopped dill or parsley), then stir well.
Add the sifted flour to the mashed potatoes and mix thoroughly until smooth.
Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil or line it with parchment paper (in this case, the parchment should also be greased with oil). Take some potato dough, form a small cake out of it and place it on a baking sheet, then attach sides to each cake, forming a kind of nest (try to leave as much space as possible for the filling inside). You can make potato nests in any way convenient for you, for example, using a small salad ring or a pastry bag. Tip: To make the potato nests golden brown when baking, brush them on top with beaten egg yolk or vegetable oil.
Fill each potato nest with minced chicken and onions.
Spread a small amount of mayonnaise on top of the filling or pour a mayonnaise mesh over it.
Grate suluguni cheese or any hard cheese (you can use any, as long as it melts well) and sprinkle it on top of the potato nests. After this, place the baking sheet with the prepared dish in an oven preheated to 180 degrees to bake for approximately 20 - 25 minutes.
After the potato nests with minced meat are ready, remove them from the oven, place them on a dish and be sure to serve them hot. An excellent addition to them would be sour cream or tomato sauce, as well as a salad of fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!
We also recommend making potato cheesecakes with minced meat, it’s very tasty!
Minced meat nests with cheese in the oven - recipe
Once all the ingredients have been prepared, you can begin preparing the dish. Cooking nests from minced meat with cheese will consist of four stages. At the first stage, you will need to prepare the filling, at the second - the meat base, at the third stage the nests will be formed, at the fourth and final stage they will be baked in the oven.
So, let's start by preparing the filling. Let the eggs boil. After cooling, remove the shells from them and grate them on a medium grater.
Grate the processed cheese on a grater too, only on a coarser one.
Place garlic and eggs in a bowl. Add salt. If desired, you can add another pinch of black pepper and 1-2 cloves of garlic, passed through a press. To make the filling more juicy and homogeneous, add mayonnaise to it. I use homemade mayonnaise made with milk.
Mix the cheese and egg filling for the nests thoroughly. I don’t recommend blending it with a blender, as it will become more liquid in consistency. Put it in the refrigerator.
We move on to the next stage - preparing minced meat for the nests. I will make the nests using ground chicken made from chicken breasts.
Cut the onion into cubes. Place in a bowl.
Pour boiled water or milk over pieces of loaf or white bread.
After 2-3 minutes, squeeze out. Crumble into the bowl with the onions using your hands.
Puree with a blender.
Place chicken fillet.
Just like for making minced cutlets, we will need eggs for the base of the meat nests. To keep the nests in shape during baking, two eggs will be enough.
After adding the eggs, salt and pepper the minced meat.
Mix it thoroughly.
Now that the filling and base are ready, you can start making meat nests. To prevent the meat nests from sticking to the baking dish or baking sheet during baking, grease it with refined sunflower oil. Form small cutlets from minced chicken. Arrange them in a mold (or on a baking sheet).
Now we need to make a depression in the center of each cutlet in which the filling will be. These cutlets can be easily and simply turned into nests using a bottle cap.
Fill the meat nests with cheese filling. Place the mold in the oven, heated to 180C.
Bake them for about 30 minutes.
Cooking times are approximate. Focus on the features of your oven. Nests of minced meat with cheese filling, baked in the oven, serve immediately after cooking. They are much tastier when hot than when cooled. The side dish for them can be very varied, from boiled pasta to mashed potatoes. Bon appetit and only positive culinary experiments. I will be glad if you liked this recipe for minced meat nests in the oven and find it useful.

Potato nests with minced meat in the oven: recipe with step-by-step photos
Potato nests with chicken are an original and, most importantly, delicious main dish that you can easily prepare at home using this detailed step-by-step recipe with photos. To prepare such an unusual dish, minced chicken is used as a filling (you can buy ready-made minced meat or make it yourself), although it can be safely replaced with finely chopped chicken fillet. Minced chicken is pre-fried with onions and garlic, then mixed with grated hard cheese and mayonnaise (preferably homemade), resulting in such a simple but tasty filling.
If desired, you can not add hard cheese to the minced meat, but sprinkle it on the potato nests with filling immediately before baking in the oven. In order to make potato nests, potato dough is kneaded from mashed potatoes, eggs and flour, and then peculiar nests are formed using a pastry syringe, bag or ordinary spoon.
It should be noted that to prepare potato nests it is not necessary to cook new mashed potatoes; you can safely use, for example, the remains of yesterday’s mashed potatoes.
Ingredients:
- minced chicken - 250 - 300 g;
- onions - 1 pc.;
- garlic - 1 - 2 cloves;
- potatoes - 350 - 400 g;
- hard cheese - 100 - 120 g;
- mayonnaise - 1 tbsp. l.;
- egg - 1 pc.;
- flour - 2 - 3 tbsp. l.;
- salt - to taste;
- ground allspice - to taste;
- vegetable oil - 3 - 4 tbsp. l.;
- butter - optional.
How to cook potato nests with minced meat in the oven
Peel the potatoes, wash them well, put them in a saucepan (if necessary, cut them into several parts), cover with cold water and boil until tender. When the potatoes boil, do not forget to salt them to taste.
While the potatoes are cooking, prepare the filling for the potato nests. Peel the onions and garlic cloves, wash and finely chop. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, when it is hot, add chopped onions and garlic, stir and fry for 3 - 5 minutes until translucent.
Then add the prepared minced chicken, salt and pepper to taste, stir and fry until cooked.
Place the prepared minced chicken with onions and garlic in a bowl, add hard cheese grated on a coarse grater.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly with mayonnaise.
Make mashed potatoes from boiled potatoes (you can add a small amount of butter to it if desired). Please note that the puree should not be too liquid or lumpy, otherwise it will be inconvenient to form nests from it.
Add the egg and sifted flour to the finished mashed potatoes (add salt if necessary), stir until the potato mass is homogeneous, then cool.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (you can grease it with butter) and carefully form potato nests using a pastry bag or spoon.
Place minced chicken filling in each potato nest. If desired, you can additionally sprinkle the top of the nest with grated hard cheese or add processed cheese. Then bake the potato nests with minced meat in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
After the dish is cooked, place the potato nests with chicken on a plate, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs (for example, dill or parsley) and serve hot. Such a simple and unusual dish will look great on a holiday table; it goes perfectly with fresh vegetables or a salad made from them.

Pasta nests with minced meat
To prepare this dish, special Italian pasta is used - tagliatelle. Similar “nests” can be purchased domestically, or you can even use noodles. To do this, you need to boil it a little until soft, and spread it with a fork, twisting it into a “nest.” Very interesting and convenient presentation of the dish in portions.
You can add a little processed cheese or vegetables to the minced meat. In general, the filling and sauce can be changed depending on your preferences. It’s better to make more sauce, then the “nests” of pasta with minced meat baked in the oven will turn out very juicy and tasty.
Ingredients:
- Pasta “Nests” 500 gr
- Minced meat 400 gr
- Onion 200 gr
- Carrots 150 gr
- Cheese 150 gr
- Egg 1 piece
- Tomato paste 2 tbsp
- Sour cream 1 tbsp
- Sugar 1 tbsp
Preparation
Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Add half the onion, a little cheese and a raw egg to the minced meat, add salt and pepper, mix well.
The pasta needs to be boiled a little. Boil some salted water in a saucepan, carefully place the “nests” of pasta and boil for 3-5 minutes, until half cooked. Do not drain the water from the pasta.
Then carefully place the “nest” in a baking dish with a large spoon. Stuff the pasta with the filling, use a spoon to “spread” the pasta, making the middle hollow for the stuffing. Fry the carrots and remaining onions in a small amount of sunflower oil.
Add tomato paste, sour cream, sugar and spices. Pour in the remaining water from cooking the pasta (about 1.5 cups, depending on the depth of the baking dish). Cook the sauce, stirring for 5 minutes. Pour the prepared sauce over the pasta “nests” and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake pasta in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

Place our filling in the middle. 9.Cook in a preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, since all the ingredients are almost ready.
Well, our wonderful dish is ready. Decorate to your taste. Bon appetit!

Mustard shrimps in potato nests
*NOTE: The original recipe calls for fresh or frozen peeled, honey-treated shrimp with tails left on if desired **NOTE: The original recipe used 2 tsp Olive Oil ***NOTE: I found low-fat pancakes. and this is what I used, but the original recipe used refrigerated crushed potatoes with hash **** NOTE: the original recipe used 1 lightly beaten egg ***** NOTE: the original recipe used 2 tsp horseradish mustard... I used Dijon Honey Mustard ****** NOTE: The original recipe used 2 tsp. olive oil. ******* NOTE: The original recipe used 3 tons of light mayonnaise dressing. I have no idea what that is, so I just used low-fat mayonnaise instead. Thaw shrimp, if frozen, and toss with olive oil and dill; postpone. In a large bowl, combine potatoes, soft breadcrumbs, green onions, egg beaters, 2 teaspoons mustard, 1/4 T butter, garlic and red pepper. Coat a baking sheet with non-stick coating. For each potato nest, scoop 1/3 C of the potato mixture into a thick patty on the baking sheet. Well, let me tell you...I couldn't get them to stick together, so I cheated a little and mashed them a little with mashed potatoes and then pressed them together...it worked for me. Press down the center of each patty with the back of a spoon to form a nest shape about 4 inches in diameter. Bake in 425F oven for 10 minutes. Spoon the shrimp filling into the center and bake for another 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown. and the shrimp are cooking. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine mayonnaise dressing, remaining mustard (there was no mustard, so I just added 1 more teaspoon), wine, and 1/2 T dill. Spoon the sauce onto each stuffed shell, adding fresh dill if desired.Makes 5 main course servings This was wonderful!! Very attractive...definitely could be served for company. Minced meat nests with cheese and eggs in the oven - recipe
Preparing the meat base for these cutlets with cheese in the oven is practically no different from the previous recipe. Chop the onion very finely, or grate it on a fine grater.
Soak the loaf in water until it becomes soft. Pass the loaf through a meat grinder or puree it with onions in a blender, as you prefer. Beat eggs into a bowl with minced meat. Add onion, loaf, spices (black pepper) and salt.
Knead the minced meat with your hands. Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater. We will sprinkle the nests with it.
Form small cakes from the minced meat and place them in a mold greased with sunflower oil.
To turn them into a nest, use a glass, or rather, its bottom. Use the bottom of a glass to make an indentation in each meat patty.
Now crack 2 quail eggs into the center of the nest.
Sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the oven at 170 degrees for 35 minutes. Enjoy your meal.
I recommend preparing very tasty hearty nests of minced meat with cheese and potatoes in the oven.
