Sandwich furniture: features of its production and varieties

After a working cocktail tasting, food finally appeared in the bit.ua editorial office. And what a one! The sandwich lords at aroma espresso bar shared the secrets of the perfect sandwich, letting us experience everything on our own…receptors. We are in a hurry to share the list of rules.

Choose good bread.

• Choose whole grain bread. Yeast or yeast-free.

• Choose natural, tasty bread. Buy real bread, from bakeries, not the kind that is packaged and intended for long-term storage. Try bread with fillings. Don't forget about baguettes, toaster bread, buns, ciabattas, pita, bagels, pita bread, croissant.

Choose bread. Preferably whole grain and natural. Don't forget about density - the sandwich shouldn't fall apart, but it shouldn't be too hard.

• Think about the density of the bread and whether the sandwich will fall apart. Is the crust hard? For wetter fillings, the bread should be denser and heavier, should absorb moisture well and not get soggy. If you are planning a “mountain” of ingredients, choose thin bread.

• If the bread is yesterday's, toast it.

Production of sandwiches sandwiches.

Fast food, or as it is now commonly called “fast food,” is becoming increasingly popular among young people and working people who have absolutely no extra time for normal meals. Economists and financiers report that the increase in fast food products in the international market has increased by 20 percent over the past ten years, and is growing more and more every year. The increase in sandwich production is growing at a dramatic intensification. And over 20 years, the varieties of these American sandwiches have increased tenfold.

  • 1 Difference from a traditional sandwich
  • 2 Sandwich production equipment
  • 3 How sandwiches are made

Difference from a traditional sandwich

A sandwich is a type of sandwich invented by American citizens as a type of fast food. The difference from a sandwich is that a sandwich has only one piece of bread or bun, while a sandwich has two pieces of bread, usually with a wide variety of fillings in between.

The most popular sandwich in the USA is turkey, and in the former CIS countries - with ham and cheese.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of sandwiches in comparison with other types of fast food:

  • sandwiches are served much faster, since most often they are produced in packaged form, or a person purchases them directly at the place of production or heating.
  • such packaged sandwiches inspire more confidence among buyers than sandwiches made right on the street, or the same hot dogs, or shawarma, or dener, or kebab;
  • for manufacturers and owners of such businesses, the good thing about sandwiches is that such products can be sold directly at the production site if necessary;
  • the price of a sandwich is much lower than the price of other various types of “fast food”.

Sandwich production equipment

  1. Installation of a mini-bakery for specialized baking of bread and bakery products. But this equipment may not be needed if ready-made bakery products are purchased, for example, if it is possible to reach an agreement with a bakery or bakery. Although, if you have your own equipment for making sandwich bread, it is more profitable economically and financially, and you can also independently regulate the flow and quantity of the product produced. You can make breads and rolls with different flavors and different toppings. The list of baking equipment may also include: flour sifter;
  2. water dispensers;
  3. proofing chamber;
  4. rotating cabinet;
  5. trolleys, bread pans, and other types of equipment.
  • The next must-have equipment is a bread slicing machine.
  • You will also need work tables; these are specialized tables with a special coating for shaping and filling bread. These are also special work surfaces for packing sandwiches.
  • The most important equipment that is impossible to do without when making sandwiches is a machine for cutting the filling into slices, these are thin pieces of filling that are used to fill all sandwiches. For the filling you can use any type of meat and fish products; seafood is also often used. Almost everything can be used from the vegetable products that will be placed in the sandwich.
  • Equipment for finished products. These are refrigerators and freezers, or ovens or microwave ovens, industrially produced, in which you will bake or heat-treat ready-made sandwiches.
  • Only high-quality and juicy fillings

    • Select the main filling: meat, cheese, eggs, fish, etc.

    • Come up with other fillers, starting from the main one. They should complement its taste.

    1. List of the basic six tastes in Ayurveda (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, astringent (or tart). Balance the taste. Don't be afraid of sweet tastes. Think about the color and texture of the sandwich.

    2. It is better to use one fresh ingredient + one cooked.

    •Add some crunch. :)

    • Don't overdo it. 3-4 ingredients will be enough to get each of them into each “bite”.

    • Add “lube.”

    Types of panels

    Tamburat is used for the production of furniture and its individual parts that do not bear heavy loads. The material is easy to cut to the desired template and processed without special equipment. Panels can be divided into three types. The classification is based on the size of the slabs, their processing, and facial decoration:

    1. Products that do not have an external lining. They are covered with a thick paper layer for an aesthetic appearance.
    2. “Rough” slabs on which a finishing coating is applied, but there is no edge. In the future, furniture production uses PVC film, plywood, veneer, and plastic for this purpose.
    3. Cladding slabs. They are completely ready for cutting and do not require further processing.

    Typically, veneered sandwich panels are used to make furniture, which completely imitate natural wood in appearance. They cost a little more than their artificial turf counterparts.

    Depending on the outer layer, panels can have different technical properties. The main characteristic of tambourate is its thickness. It varies between 32–100 mm, but sheets of 50–60 mm are most often used. The shape of the slab can be any.

    The nuances of placing built-in furniture in rooms for different purposes

    Take care of your health

    • Choose light meat: chicken, turkey, ham, roast beef. Vacuum packed sliced meats usually have a lot of salt and a lot of water in them, don't use it. Salami, Bavarian sausages, prosciutto, bacon, meat balls, cue ball, cutlet - everything will come in handy. Don't forget about fish: salmon, tuna, shrimp and other seafood.

    • Add only one “fat” ingredient. If you use cheese, do not add mayonnaise. Use delicious cheeses: don’t forget mozzarella, blue cheeses (Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Brie), smoked cheeses (provolone), grilling cheeses (haloumi) and heating cheeses, aged cheeses (Parmesan), cheeses with additives (wasabi, herbs), cream cheeses (Philadelphia), suluguni, feta.

    Choose “light” meat. Add only one fatty ingredient. Vegetables are required.

    • Vegetables are a must. Tomatoes and cucumbers, lettuce - are most often used in sandwiches. More dense vegetables can be stewed in a frying pan (zucchini, eggplant, peppers), avocado. Remember the steamers! Don't forget about seasonal products (radish and egg sandwich)! Well, add some crunch to the salad (lola rossa, arugula, ramen, spinach, basil). The unpleasant taste of onions can be removed by placing onion rings in water with lemon juice for a couple of minutes.

    Cooking with ham

    A classic version of the dish with the addition of cheddar cheese will be both an excellent breakfast and a hearty snack. You can replace the type of cheese with any other you like.

    Products:

    • eight slices of ham;
    • eight slices of bread;
    • tomato;
    • eight pieces of cheese;
    • four lettuce leaves;
    • two eggs;
    • three large spoons of olive oil;
    • seventy grams of ground crackers;
    • spices to taste.

    Ham sandwich recipe:

    1. Combine a tablespoon of water with eggs and spices.
    2. Thinly slice the tomato and tear the lettuce leaves.
    3. Place cheese, ham, tomatoes and lettuce on bread. Cover with the second slice.
    4. Place the sandwich in the egg mixture, roll in breadcrumbs and fry on all sides.

    The bread slices can be cut diagonally to create a triangle shape.

    Assembly order

    • Spread the sauce on the bread, preferably both pieces
    • The cheese is placed closer to the bread to compact the sandwich structure.
    • The wet ingredients should be higher to avoid sogging the bottom bread. Placing the tomatoes close to the cheese will help retain their juice.
    • Do not place slippery ingredients in a pile or next to each other. For example, don't put lettuce next to the sauce or tomato next to the cucumber.
    • “Hide” small ingredients in larger ones.
    • It is better if the cheese and meat do not touch each other, this will highlight the taste of each ingredient.

    What is

    Previously, sandwich panels were used to insulate walls of various structures. In the 2000s, the material, called “tamburat”, found use among manufacturers of cabinet furniture. With its help, the cost of production has decreased, the weight of the product has become smaller, but at the same time the strength and resistance to negative external factors have increased. Tamburat is a frameless three-layer slab. The panels consist of the following parts:

    1. Facing sheets.
    2. Frames made of bars located vertically and horizontally.
    3. Mortgage elements installed in the places where the fittings are attached (they ensure the strength of the entire structure).
    4. Internal filler.

    The filling layer of the panel is made of thick cardboard, laid in the shape of a honeycomb and stuffed with crushed compressed paper mixture. This structure ensures high strength of the slabs. The filler is covered on both sides with sheets of chipboard, MDF, and plywood. More expensive models are finished with natural veneer. All these materials perform a decorative function. The thickness of the outer layer varies from 3 to 8 mm. This value depends on the type of panel and its technical characteristics.

    Sandwich furniture can be lined with sheets of plywood or chipboard with an imitation of wood pattern, marble, or natural stone. In this case, its strength and stability are further increased. The furniture edge serves as a stabilizer for the side surfaces.

    This versatile material is perfect for making products of any complexity. This could be furniture for the kitchen, children's rooms or living rooms. Tamburat is used in the production of reception desks, shelving and shop windows. This is a stylish and affordable furnishing option for an office or apartment.
