Children of certain categories can receive free meals at school based on regional regulations. Each of them has its own benefits. For example, in Moscow , the following students are identified as entitled to subsidized meals:

  • all primary school students are free;
  • children from large and low-income families, orphans, guardians, disabled people, schoolchildren with disabilities, children of disabled parents of groups I and II, students who have lost their breadwinner, students in special classes - free breakfasts and lunches;

There are no separate regulatory documents on the provision of free or reduced-price meals in preschool educational institutions. Benefits provide child care in kindergarten. In free form (or according to a template accepted by the institution), the parent (legal representative) fills out an application for benefits.

Attached to it are copies of the birth certificates of all minor children, copies of pension or service (for law enforcement officers) certificates, a military ID for a military serviceman, a certificate for a large family, a certificate confirming the granting of a disability pension, documents confirming that the child is an orphan or is under guardianship.

To apply for free food benefits, you must prepare basic documents - an application and a copy of the child’s birth certificate (for all categories of applicants, regardless of the basis for the application).

When should I apply for food?

To receive preferential meals, parents of students in preferential categories under 18 years of age annually, before May 31, submit an application for preferential meals in the next academic year to the appropriate school or vocational school (hereinafter referred to as OU) in a form approved by the Education Committee.

Students in preferential categories who re-enter an educational institution during the academic year or acquire the right to receive meals during the academic year are provided with preferential meals starting from the month following the month of application, if the application is submitted before the 20th day of the current month .

Students in preferential categories who have reached the age of 18 and are legally competent submit an application independently.

According to statements from parents of schoolchildren and students of vocational schools who are entitled to subsidized meals, but suffer from diseases included in the List of Chronic Diseases and are home-schooled, the provision of subsidized meals can be replaced by monetary compensation.

Reduced meals with partial payment are provided subject to the written consent of the parents of schoolchildren to pay the remaining cost of the corresponding reduced meals (breakfast and (or) lunch), amounting to 30 percent of its cost.
