Sometimes there is so little time left for family. And there’s absolutely no time left for a little cooking. But today we’ll talk about one of the most common pasta dishes - naval pasta - a dish of the Soviet era. By the mid-20th century, pasta production was widespread in the Soviet Union. Their production has become much cheaper and they have become available to absolutely all segments of the population. The recipe for naval pasta itself is first found in cookbooks of this particular period. However, the origin of the name to the fleet is extremely dubious. The naval pasta itself is a simplified version of the earlier dish “pasta”, which had a more complex preparation process.

This dish is extremely simple and can be prepared very quickly. The main ingredients are pasta, minced meat and onions.

Navy pasta: classic recipe

A well-known and beloved dish for everyone. It will take just a few minutes to prepare, since the pasta can be prepared earlier as a side dish for the cutlets.

Almost all pasta recipes are similar in their components. The difference may be in the amount of ingredients. So the recipe for a classic dish includes stewed meat, onions and tomato paste. But gourmets can add bell peppers, mushrooms, cheese, carrots, and tomatoes.

They mainly use spirals, horns or feathers. And some people prefer spaghetti; they resemble Italian Bolognese pasta. This time I want to cook this dish with tomato sauce. If you don't like tomato, you can exclude it. Everyone has their own taste preferences; many people like the bland version.

Ingredients:

  • Pasta - 400g.
  • Stew – 400g.
  • Tomato sauce 200g.
  • Onion – 2 pcs. average
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sunflower oil
  • Spices

1. Take two medium onions or one large one and cut into cubes. Pour vegetable oil into a large frying pan. If it has a non-stick coating, then use less oil. Add onion and fry until whitish-golden. Stir for even frying.

2. Reduce the heat a little and add tomato sauce. Mix everything and simmer, covered, for about 5 minutes.

3. Open the stew and put it all in a frying pan, mash the stew by mixing with the sauce. If the pieces are large, cut them. This will reduce cooking time. Then the meat breaks down into fibers and mixes with the sauce.

4. Add spices and salt as you like. Seasonings such as paprika, basil, oregano, dried onions, cardamom, parsley, and dill are perfect for pasta.

5. While the gravy is being prepared, put water in a saucepan on the stove, wait for it to boil and cook the horns. Lightly salt the water.

I always take the main products in equal proportions. For example: 400 grams of pasta and 400 gr. meat.

Place the boiled spirals in a colander and wait until the water has completely drained from them.

6. Pour them into a saucepan with gravy, mix with sauce and meat. And fry for no more than 2-3 minutes. Before serving, close the lid and let it sit for a while. They will soak in the sauce and become even tastier.

And now our dish is ready. Place on plates, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs. And we delight our family and friends with a delicious dinner.

An ideal dish for a quick lunch or dinner is pasta with minced meat, also called “navy style”.

Ingredients: 450-470 g of homemade minced meat, 220-270 g of pasta, 4 large tomatoes in their own and 1/3 cup of tomato paste, onion, 3-5 garlic cloves, fat for frying.

  1. To prepare a dish according to this recipe, a slow cooker is used. Any device model will do, since you won’t have to use any rare modes.
  2. First, the onion cubes are prepared in the frying program. The vegetable can be cut into pieces of any size - according to your taste.
  3. The selected pasta is cooked in salted water until al dente. This process will take 7-8 minutes.
  4. Homemade minced meat is added to the vegetables. The mass is immediately salted, flavored with crushed onions, and then cooked in the same program until the meat changes color.
  5. Next, put the paste into the bowl of the device (you can dilute it minimally with warm water) and add coarsely chopped tomatoes.

4. The water has already boiled. Pour pasta into boiling water and cook. The cooking time is usually written on the package. If there is no data, cook for no more than 3-5 minutes after boiling. The less you cook the pasta, the more crumbly it will be.

5. When the meat is almost cooked, pour 4-5 tablespoons of boiling water from the pan and cover with a lid. Simmer a little over low heat. This minced meat dressing should simmer for a total of 15 minutes.

6. Drain the pasta in a colander. Can be rinsed lightly with water. And pour the pasta into the pan with the meat. Fry them with the minced meat for several minutes, stirring. Taste for salt; add salt if necessary.

The degree of frying depends on your taste; if you like soft horns, then you should not fry them for a long time. And some prefer frying until golden brown.

1. Prepare hot water for the side dish; we will pour it into the slow cooker. Approximately a liter of boiling water is needed to immerse the pasta. On diced onion mode, add oil to a preheated slow cooker. Select the mode: fry vegetables, press start.

2. Add the minced meat after frying the onion for 5 minutes. The minced meat becomes crumbly after 8-10 minutes. Turn off the frying mode.

3. Add pasta to the meat. You need to add a little salt and pepper.

4. Fill everything with hot water so that there is no temperature difference. We set the program to the “rice, cereals” mode; 25 minutes is enough.
