Apple jam with nuts in a slow cooker: stock up on only tasty ones

The simplest apple jam for the winter - step-by-step recipe

The dessert is made easily and simply. Despite this, the products retain the maximum amount of vitamins and other organic compounds needed by the body. Sugar is an excellent preservative, so there will be a minimum of ingredients. It’s all in the preparation method, such apple jam will turn out beautiful and transparent, and large pieces will look very appetizing and beg to be put into your mouth.

You will need:

  • granulated sugar – 0.6 kg;
  • ripe apples – 2 kg.

To improve the taste, you can add a little citric acid, but only if the apples themselves are not sour.

Preparation:

1. Wash the apples, divide them into several equal parts, remove the seed box. Cut into thin strips.

2. Combine with granulated sugar in a suitable container and stir. Cover and leave on the kitchen counter for 2-3 hours. As soon as the juice is released, place the container with the contents on the stove.

3. Bring to a boil, reduce the temperature and continue cooking for a quarter of an hour.

4. Meanwhile, process the jars and boil the lids. Pack the prepared apple jam into sterile jars, roll up and cool.

Transparent apple jam in slices - how to prepare

I will be very surprised if you have never tried eating such jam. It turns out bright transparent, like real amber. Sticky and aromatic like honey and with beautiful translucent apple slices. Such apple jam, by its mere presence on the table during tea drinking, becomes a table decoration. If you put it in front of your guests, you won’t be able to avoid sighs of admiration.

For the preparation, only 2 ingredients are again used - apple fruits and granulated sugar. Let's look at how to make aromatic transparent jam from apples in slices.

You will need:

  • apples – 2 kg;
  • granulated sugar – 2 kg.

Preparation:

1. Rinse the apples and wait until completely dry. First divide into 4 parts, remove the core, and then cut each quarter into another 3-4 parts to get even thin slices.

2. Place apples and granulated sugar in layers in a suitable pan. The final layer should be sugar. In this case, the apple slices will release juice faster and will be ready for further cooking, and the top layer will not darken in the air.

3. Cover the container with the contents with a clean cloth. Place in a cool place for 10-19 hours to allow sufficient release of fruit juice.

4. From the bowl, transfer the apples with the resulting syrup into a suitable pan. Place on the hob at medium temperature. Bring the contents to a boil, cook for 3-6 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and cool at room temperature.

5. After the time has passed, repeat the process until it boils again, but cooking increases to 9-10 minutes. Cool again.

6. Repeat the procedure again. From the moment of boiling, it is recommended to cook for 15-25 minutes. Remember to mix gently with a wooden or plastic spatula so as not to damage the appearance of the slices.

Advice! The longer the final cooking takes place, the more interesting the shade of the finished delicacy turns out.

7. Place apple jam with slices into prepared sterile jars and close. Store in the cold.

How to make apple jam with walnuts for the winter

I peel the shells from the nuts. Both walnuts and hazelnuts are suitable for this recipe.

I cut the apples into halves, since they are not large in themselves. I just remove the tails and seeds inside in advance.

I combine nuts and apples in a deep bowl.

I also put lemon slices in the bowl. Lemon will prevent the apples from getting too dark from the nuts.

I add granulated sugar to boiling water and cook sweet syrup. For this amount of sugar I will need 300 grams of water. I stir occasionally.

When the sugar has completely melted, I stir it again from the bottom with a spoon, and then pour the sweet syrup over all the ingredients.

I boil the jam for 15 minutes 3-4 times. There should also be cool-down breaks.

The last 4 times I boil it until it boils, and then immediately put the jam into glass jars.

Immediately I screw the lids on the jam jars.

The jam should cool slowly and under a “fur coat” of a warm blanket.

It’s nice to eat this “Tsar’s jam” made from apples and walnuts and feel all the sweetness of such a delicacy. But the sweetness there will be unusual, with a nutty-lemon flavor.

Natalya Isaenko shared her recipe for apple and nut jam.

Pickled eggplants for the winter from Maxim Punchenko:

Exactly three weeks ago, a very interesting and unusual recipe for apple jam with walnuts appeared on Alimero, published by Nadezhda Andriyakhina. I really liked it, but there was one significant “but” - I don’t have a slow cooker!

Usually I either skip such recipes (if they don’t arouse much interest) or add them to my bookmarks for the future, just in case I get a multicooker one day. And I calm down on this.

Since I wasn’t sure that I would like the taste of the finished dish, I decided to cook a small amount first.

Ingredients:

Preparation:

I started with lemon. I washed it thoroughly and grated the zest on a fine grater.

Then I squeezed the juice out of it.

She covered it with a lid, and she took care of the apples.

I washed them, removed the cores and initially cut them into 4 pieces.

It can be difficult to predict how a particular apple variety will boil. But still, if you want to get ready-made slices, it is better to cut them into 8 parts. I, after thinking a little, decided to do it more finely.

I put a pan of water on the fire, when it boiled, I put in the apples, lemon zest, added sugar and poured in lemon juice. Added bay leaf.

Mix well, cover with a lid, reduce the gas to low and cook for 10 minutes. Then she removed the lid, turned up the heat and boiled for another 5 minutes. Removed the bay leaf from the pan.

Prepared walnuts. I removed any partitions that came across, and divided the whole nuts into several parts.

Stir, cover and cook over low heat for 25 minutes.

Honestly, I didn’t expect such an effect - we ate this jam in one day!)) Now I’m already thinking about making such a preparation for the winter.

As for the bay leaf, its taste is not felt as in the first and second courses. However, it adds some completely indescribable note to the overall perception of the jam.

I also liked the fact that thanks to the small amount of sugar and the presence of lemon juice and zest in the composition, it turned out not cloying, with sourness.

Have you ever wanted to make the same jam? :)

Apple jam with walnuts is not an ordinary winter preparation. Will I really surprise you if I tell you: it also contains lemon, cognac and bay leaf? However, you are probably already accustomed to my recipes for preparations with the addition of alcohol and you know that alcohol in such cases acts as a preservative. It’s impossible to get drunk from jam with cognac, so feel free to cook and try it.

And it turns out very tasty

The preparation turns out aromatic, its taste is excellent, and this delicacy can be stored for a long time, which is especially important when preparing supplies for the winter. To make jam you will need apples, walnuts, sugar, bay leaves, cognac, lemon and water.

If you don’t want to bother with jam for about two days, then use the following method. Pour 400 million water into the container where the sweetness will be cooked, add sugar, add lemon juice and zest.

Place on medium heat and bring to a boil. Then add the chopped apple. After a couple of minutes, add nuts. The resulting mixture is boiled for about 20 minutes, stirring constantly. The finished jam is placed in sterilized jars and covered with metal lids.

Many people know that you can add lemon to too sweet apple jam, which will balance the taste and make it less cloying. But what if you put orange instead of lemon? Enjoy your tea!

In winter, especially often, you want to treat yourself to something tasty. Jam, which includes apples with nuts, in our case walnuts, will cope with this task perfectly. It is healthy, aromatic, and relatively inexpensive. Considering the prices for apples and nuts, you need to prepare them in season - then your budget will not suffer from your culinary delights.

Apple jam with walnuts will become your calling card and a real decoration for the holiday table. And this despite the fact that the delicacy is little known and less common than, for example, apricot or raspberry jam. Apples in combination with walnuts give a unique and especially aromatic taste.

It is preferable to choose juicy and sweet apples for this jam.

You won’t believe it, but for our recipe you will need, in addition to sugar and water, other ingredients unusual for such preparations, namely lemon, cognac, liqueur or rum, and bay leaf. Yes, it is precisely this explosive mixture of various ingredients that will allow you to achieve a stunning result that any gourmet will appreciate. Never before have they been so delicious!

Preparation

You should pay attention to the type of apples: it is advisable to take rather hard apples with a sweet and sour taste for jam. If you use a summer variety of apples, sweet and soft, the result will be no less tasty, but the fruits will boil and turn into puree. Wash the selected apples and remove seeds and membranes. There is no need to cut off the skin.

Cut each slice into 3 more pieces lengthwise to make thin slices. Place them in a large saucepan or basin for making apple jam for the winter. Rinse the lemon and grate the zest through a fine grater. Squeeze the juice out of the remaining lemon. Add them to the pan with the apples. Pour granulated sugar there, pour in water and place a bay leaf. Place the pan with the jam ingredients on the fire and stir gently.

Cook covered for 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring several times. Meanwhile, chop half of the walnuts with a knife or a special device for crushing nuts, leave the second part in large pieces or halves.

Measure out 30 grams of cognac using a special glass. After 10 minutes, remove the bay leaf from the jam (you can throw it away, we won’t need it anymore). Add all the nuts (chopped and large) to the apple mixture and pour in the cognac. Stir well, cover and simmer over low heat for 20-30 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Place the finished apple jam with walnuts while hot (even boiling) into previously prepared dry sterilized jars and tightly close the lids or roll them up. Allow to cool at room temperature, then store in a permanent storage area.

Delicious jam recipe – apple delicacy with walnuts

For super jam you will need 2 kilograms of apples, preferably the Golden variety, 400 grams of walnuts, a kilogram of sugar, a glass of water and 2 lemons. Special ingredients: 4 bay leaves, 4 tablespoons of cognac, liqueur or rum. To make this jam, you can use either a regular saucepan or a slow cooker. If your multicooker is designed for a small volume, you can divide the ingredients into several equal parts.

First, prepare the lemons. They should be juicy, since we will only use zest and juice. The remains from the peels and the squeeze from the lemon partitions are thrown away. Then we clean the apples from skins and seeds. For this jam, it is better to cut the apples into slices of medium thickness. After that, in the multicooker, select the “Jam” mode, mix water, lemon juice and zest, sugar and stir until you get syrup.

Add apple slices and bay leaves to the resulting sweet mass and leave to cook for 20–25 minutes.

. Of course, this whole process can be done without fancy kitchen appliances, in an ordinary saucepan. After the above time has passed, we take out the bay leaf, which we will no longer need, add strong alcohol and peeled nuts. These ingredients will add flavor to such a healthy delicacy, and the alcohol itself will evaporate, so you can safely give the jam even to small children.

This mass should be boiled for about an hour and then pour the finished jam into jars. They must be dry and sterilized. You should also prepare in advance metal lids that need to be boiled. After all that has been done, all that remains is to roll up the lids with a key and turn the cans upside down. After a while, the cooled jam with nuts and apples can be put on the table!

Recipe: Apple jam - spicy, with walnuts

Ingredients: oranges - 2 pcs.; bay leaves - 2 pcs.; lemon - 2 pcs.; allspice peas - 8-10 pcs.; peeled walnuts - 350 g; peeled and seeded apples - 2 kg; sugar - 1.2 kg

Method of preparation: When I saw this recipe for jam, where bay leaves and allspice are added, I initially grimaced. But curiosity got the better of me and I decided to cook some for testing. The aromas and flavors mixed so well that it turned out very tasty, from the first spoon you can’t even tell what was added to this jam, except for apples and nuts. It is very tasty to eat this jam with tea, and it is also great to use for filling pies made from yeast and butter dough. You can take any kind of apples for this jam, but if they are very sour, add more sugar. I had 3 different varieties of apples (unfortunately, I don’t know the names, we collected them in an abandoned garden on a long-collapsed collective farm), but they were not overcooked and the jam turned out to be even more interesting, as if with pieces of dried apple. So, let’s get started !Wash the apples, peel them, cut them into arbitrary pieces, maybe into slices if the variety is such that it gets too soft. As a result, we need 2 kg of peeled fruit. Place the apples in the container in which you will cook the jam. Next, sprinkle the apples with sugar and leave for a couple of hours so that they release their juices and the sugar dissolves. Wash the oranges and one lemon thoroughly; it’s even better to pour cold water over them, hold them in it for a while, and then rinse them under running water. Cut the citruses into circles and add them to the apples. Add allspice and bay leaf. Squeeze the juice from the second lemon. Mix everything and put on medium heat, bring to a boil and cook for another 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then turn off the heat, remove citruses and spices from the jam - we no longer need them, and leave the jam until it cools completely. When the jam has cooled, add walnuts to it, stir and return to medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for another 30 minutes, stirring. If foam forms, remove it with a spoon. While the jam is cooking, prepare jars with lids - wash and sterilize. Place hot jam into jars. And close the lids. Leave the jam until it cools completely, and then send it to a cool place and store it there until used. Enjoy your tea!

Features of creating aromatic jam

Apple jam with walnuts must be made taking into account all the nuances. So, it is better to cut the nuts into large pieces. It is also important that after adding the nuts, the mixture is cooked over high heat. Your jam will be ready when almost all of the added water has evaporated. This won't take much time. By the way, you can store a delicacy made according to this recipe for about a year, but it’s difficult to protect this delicacy from home sweet tooths for so long.

If you don’t have liqueur, then cognac will help make your jam no less fragrant.

But you shouldn’t overdo it with the amount of alcohol. Although the alcohol evaporates, this does not mean that you can add half a liter of strong drink to the future jam. There is one more feature - so that your apples do not have time to darken at the time of preparation, first peel and squeeze the lemon, and only then take on the rest of the fruit. And one more wish - the apple slices should be approximately the same size. This is both beautiful and convenient, both in the case of and in the case of jam.

As for the lemon, use a coarse grater to obtain the aromatic zest. Do not forget to rinse the lemon thoroughly in advance, and then remove the seeds when squeezing. But if you decide to cook your delicacy not in a slow cooker, then you can take either a saucepan of the appropriate volume or an enamel basin, which every housewife has. Sliced apples should be placed in already boiling water, and the mixture itself should be stirred periodically. Only after the whole mass with apples has boiled can the heat be reduced, but you must stir constantly. And one more thing - it is better to store such jam in a cool place, then it will not spoil either after 3, or after 6 or 9 months. The main thing is that the jars should not be exposed to sunlight, as this could cause their contents to deteriorate.
